Staying at the El Castanar Nazari was a figurative and literal high point of our trip to Spain. The location allowed us to escape the standard tourist route and see a part of the country that seemed real. The white villages, the mountains, and the peace and quiet were all welcome. The inn itself is a gem. The unique, large... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in May on our way from Granada to the Mojacar area. The hotel is nestled in the mountains and is a beautiful place to stay and experience the Alpujarras. Felix and Encarna are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. It was very cold and wet the day we arrived and the next... More

We stayed two nights in early June and wish we had been able to stay longer. The hotel is very well designed and extremely comfortable, and the views are simply amazing. Restaurants, etc., are an easy 5 minute drive away in Trevelez, but we are glad we chose to stay outside of town to enjoy the scenery and tranquility. Felix... More

After a long drive from madrid, we arrived to the place, and it was the best way to start the vacation. Wonderful scenery, quit, very clean and well decorated. We took the addvice and went up the hill to a short walk along the river, and it was lovely. We sure get back there!

El CastaNar Nazari is one of those place you come across rarely that exceed expectations on every front. Felix, the host, was completely charming and made us feel altogether at home, despite no common language. The room and bathroom were very attractively designed and with every convenience you expect in a top city hotel, including good wifi. The public areas... More

small, comfortable, well situated lodge with stunning views. The towns nearby are noisy but this is on its own on a small estate. Run by great owners who made our visit really enjoyable. they know the region well and were able to guide us to fantastic hiking and restaurants. Their enthusiasm and sophistication made this a welcome stay.

Quite simply one of the best places to stay for a quite break. Excellent breakfast , beautiful rooms, fantastic surroundings , brilliant walking and most welcoming hosts. We stayed for four nights in April and the log stove in the rooms were great in the cool evening. Frank halbert

OMG. The drive up is beyond belief and so beautiful. The hotel has about 5 rooms and is in perfect condition. Plus, there are real queen size beds (no twins mashed together). The owner is a photographer and the aesthetics are a treat for the eyes. You could sit in the gazebo all day and stare at the mountains. This... More

It took almost 2 hrs distance from Granada downtown. We had to drive very curved highway in the mountain during the night time due to my misunderstanding on the location. This place is suitsble for family who would like to have relaxed time for several days. Exce it, hotel itself is perfect and owner was very kind and warm.

Thanks for writing your comments, but we arn't surprised by their travel's circumstances and STAY IN THE HOTEL ABOUT 7 HOURS IN THE NIGHT (we arrived at 00:30 pm and we left at 7:am). At all times we try that to enjoy your short stay at the hotel ( I insit on 7 hours) You should remember that you COME... More
