we booked a room and restaurant about a month before travelling for our wedding anniversary and were confirmed by the receptionist (my wife speaks fluent french). On arrival they had no note of our booking and so we were turned away to find alternative accommodation which we did in ouistreham. Very upset with their lack of efficiency.

First the best bits. Nicely located in an attractive village near the ferry port of Ouistreham-10 minutes away for early morning ferry, perfect! The family room we stayed in was small but OK and the beds were clean. However we had a damp smell coming from the bathroom, standing water in the wait-room (disable facilities) from a floor not being... More

Stayed here as arrived quiet late off the Brittany ferry at Caen and wanted to visit Pegasus Bridge in the morning. Our room was in the annex just across the road from the hotel which was convenient as it also had the car park situated there. Travelling with our dog meant we did not have to enter the main hotel.... More

Nice, family run hotel, a short walk from the famous Pegaus bridge & museum. Has handy parking in hotel and outside in a quiet, pleasant Caen suburb. Room was fine. Bit odd that the toilet had no sink and was separate from the bathroom, and the pillows weren't great. On the other hand, the restaurant is supurb.

I hesitate to recommend this hotel as I my wife and friends liked it so much we do not want it to change. I know that sounds selfish but when one has found a hotel as nice as this one you really want to keep it to yourself . The staff were kind and helpful considering we cannot speak French!... More

As a party of 4 we spent 3 nights in the quiet and comfortable annex to this Hotel. The annex is a very short walk from the main building with its own car park. The staff were welcoming and as one of our party said 'we ate like kings!' The Hotel is in the middle of the village within walking... More

Small friendly hotel close to WW2 sites such as Pegasus Bridge. Our party of 6 stayed two nights, Rooms fresh but do not miss the Restaurant. First class, do not miss the Lobster meals! Good car parks and friendly local staff who work ha,rd to keep all happy. Would certainly return.

I stayed here for an evening whilst in France on business. The rooms are just across the road from the restaurant. As it is a sleepy village there is no noise to disturb you during your stay. The main draw to La Glycine is the restaurant. So if you stay do not miss out on the opportunity to fine dine... More

We spent one night at La Glycine on our way to Brittany and would definitely stay there again. The staff were welcoming, and there was ample parking. The hotel is pretty from the outside and although only a couple of miles from the ferry port, in a quiet location. We were a family of four and booked a quadruple room... More

Four of us stayed at La Glycine during the last week in August while attending the World Equestrian Games in Caen. Echoing a previous reviewer, the rooms were clean and spacious and beds very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant most evenings during our stay and the food and service were just great: there was a wide choice of menus... More
