Found this place with a bit of luck - during a road trip. Great rustic appeal while providing modern comfort. Lovely dinner at the restaurant, excellent wine and service. Breakfast was sumptuous and prepared us for the long day ahead on the road with many kilometres to cover. Wish there were more places like this!!! Very special find.

This is an interesting building in a small town about 30 min from San Sebastian. We stayed here three nights because we couldn't find accommodation in San Sebastian as everything was booked due to an event in the area. I don't mind to be out in the country in a small village as its quiet and there are no crowds.... More

This is a very very nice hotel . I arrived very late after a long walk in the mountains and was welcomed . The manageress or owner is one of the kindest people I have met . Furnished with antiques, there is lots of old world charm and character . Food is excellent too , the wine free with the... More

During our previous visit, my wife and I were happy with our meal, but our friends found their steak not up to par. I am pleased to report that this must have been a one off, because I chose the steak and found it very good. We have stayed at the Churrut several times now and would happily recommend anyone... Almost a year ago I stayed here as a treat paid for by my wife to celebrate my birthday. My birthday falls on halloween and as we motored up from a very hot and sunny Valencia we were delighted in the change of weather. We arrived in the afternoon and a thick fog hung over the tiny village. The hotel... More

Our group really enjoyed this hotel. 7 of us on motorcycles and a few that arrived by car. Rooms are beautiful and my view to the river was stunning. I slept with the large window wide open so I could listen to the water and wake to a beautiful sky. We had cocktails in the courtyard which is lovely and... More

Other recent reviewers are correct. The hotel is not just quiet - it is peaceful. We had a superior room which overlooked the garden and had a large private terrace. It was very well appointed. The staff are multilingual, friendly and helpful. Parking is secure. The restaurant is very pleasant and you eat well for reasonable prices. Don't be put... More

We are from Barcelona and we regularly meet up with friends from Madrid to spend a few nights together and visit different areas of Spain. Our Madrid friends found this hotel, and what a superb find it was. The hotel itself was charming - amazingly welcoming, exceedingly comfortable, beautifully furnished - and the staff were tremendously attentive and polite. Forget... More

We stayed in Hotel Churrut 3 nights. Our room was on floor 1 (1 flight up from the ground floor). The room and bathroom were spacious, clean, and the beds very comfortable. The building is in a tastefully restored old building, very charming. Our room had a private balcony, bordered by flowering vines and overlooking a large courtyard garden. There... More

A really charming hotel, family run, personal attention, a very historic building, a good restaurant and a restful place to stay. The small town of Vera de Bidasoa is close to the French frontier and at the western end so handy for San Sebastian, Biarritz, Pamplona. A good spot to wander, to use the mountain railway or just relax. For... More
