What a lovely resort in a gorgeous valley about a 3 hour drive West of Madrid. Well appointed rooms and baths, excellent service and food. Indoor pool/spa is not free, closes by 4pm and wasn't working all week (disappointed). I was there with Vaughan Town but i could see it being a delightful, romantic getaway or just a place to... The hotel is well appointed - apart from a spa bath in the room's en suite, there is a sauna and swimming pool in a separate building, as well as tennis courts in the grounds. The hotel is about 2 km (walking distance) from the local village, El Barco de Avila. The country setting is quiet and beautiful. We had... More

Not very close to Béjar (we went to go to skying at Covatilla but it worth teh distance. We stayed in a deuplex room with chimney. It had two beds in the grounfloor an a beatiful room in the 1st floor with an whirpool bath. The hotel has also a amazing spa with inside and heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, etc.

Lovely staff with 1 exception in Reception .Special mention to Clara and team in the Restaurant. Overall, the hotel is very nice and is located in a remote, picturesque part of Barco de Avila. The hotel itself is very modern, peaceful and stylish and the hotels, for the most part, are too. There were just a one or two things to me that didn't make it 4 star such as holes in the duvet covers. I... More

This little hotel is full of character , ideal for a stop over, its very relaxing with the local vilage being a 20 minute walk and worth a visit , My room was spotless and the grounds well kept. As mentioned in previous reviews it may be best to avoid vaughan weeks, if you want true tranquaility. Saying this i... More

I stayed here from 16 to 21 February 2014 and it is an excellent hotel. The staff mostly comfortable with english, very supportive and quick service. I had a stove in my room and ordered firewood for it and it was there before dinner that evening. The food was excellent, breakfast with a large assortment of foods, juices and coffee.... More

I stayed in Puerta de Gredos as a Vaughtown volunteer and really did enjoy my experience. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The view from the hotel to the surrounding mountains is nothing short of spectacular. Unfortunately if you're looking for liveliness, the nearest town is about a half hour walk away and will be shut if you go... More

I stayed here for the Vaughan town language course. The rooms are very comfortable and airy. most had a terrace or balcony. The lunch and dinner were varied and very tasty. the breakfast although good was always the same. It seemed that the bar was not manned all the time.
