Visited for the first time in 2012 and came back in July 2014 - still the same great place with a wonderful staff, full of hospitality. If you don't want to go anywhere, you can go for a hike around the hotel or stay whole day by the swimming pool....have a delicious lunch and dinner. Had a room on the... More

"Marmottes" is one of our favourites & we returned again in June 2014. The service is always excellent as is the location high in the Pyrenees. Wether you choose half board or the a la carte menu, quality is guaranteed. One small flaw is some,of the bedrooms are on the small side but this does not detract from the overall... More

We spent two nights at La Grange aux Marmottes during our 15-day trip through the Pyrenees. We started in Bilbao and ended the trip in Barcelona stopping at 7 different accomodations during the trip. This was the most enjoyable and interesting of all the places we stayed. First, the setting is outstanding. Viscos is barely a hamlet. High up on... More

La Grange aux Marmottes is a small and very beautiful hotel with excellent restaurant in village Viscos on the mountain side of the Pyrenees located between Argeles Gazost and Luz Saint Sauveur. The rooms at the basement are not big but nice. First floor rooms are bigger and some rooms very big and with small terrace. The restaurant has great... More

OK, let's get the bad news out of the way. Our room was small. Two suitcases filled it to overflowing. But... the room was recently decorated and classy. the bed was fine. The wardrobe was large. the bathroom again was a bit of a squeeze, but the shower was great and the decorating was recent and attractive. And then we... More

Another restaurant at the end of a narrow road full of curves nor easy to get there , worse to park. Integrated in a charming rustic hotel is a typical French restaurant with country charm. We eat the “Hiker menu” which was fine because we had come from a beautiful hike. My mussel soup was particularly good, but all the... More

Found this hotel by chance - it was late, and we had no booked accommodation for the night. Then their sign guided us up on a mountainside, on a narrow road - I don't know how they manage during the winter? I cannot emphasize enough how nice this place is. Our first room was cozy, elegantly designed and furnished. I... More

This is my favorite kind of hotel, both rustic and charming. It has stone walls, wood trim, tile floors, and lots of flowers both inside and out. The hotel is in a tiny stone village overlooking a mountain valley. The rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast and dinners are served in lovey settings. The food is good, and it... More

About as out of the way as you can get, at the end of a tiny cul-de-sac mountain village. The hotel is a set of higgledy-piggledy areas set on levels by a steep cobbled path, so not one for the disabled. The small public rooms are cosy and traditional in the nicest way. Bedroom 9 is spacious but looks out... More

I picked this hotel because of trip advisor. Very happy that I did! Amazing location very close to Cirque de Garvarnie and many other Pyreneeian treats. A warm welcome by the owner greeted us, and they were so helpful with the meal requirements I had. I would love to visit again and would recommend to family and friends alike.
