We chose this hotel for a one night stay because the road below it was a good place to watch Le Tour de France. It was a in a beautiful small village, about 5 minutes drive up the mountain. We arrived early (the road closed at 11.00 for Le Tour) and we were given coffees while they made up our... More

We stayed in Viscos for 3 nights in early June. Atmosphere, service, meals were all excellent. I guess we were early in the season as we did not have to park down the hill as others have mentioned. I don't think this would be a big deal anyway unless you have a severe mobility problem. You can unload and load... More

Loved this inn and teeny tiny town perched on the side of a mountain. The inn evokes a cozy ski lodge with excellent views from outside of the valley. Our group rented two rooms, one rather small with a private little porch. The other room, was very large and very comfortable for three people. We ended paying half board and... More

Don't miss this! Comfortable room, interesting decor, friendly service, lovely village, fair price. Not to forget the food, which looked rather folksy on the plate but was stunningly delicious; "excellent" doesn't begin to do it justice, you have to taste it. Not many chefs can infuse such deceptively simple dishes with so much flavor and interest. The local wine (VDP... More

The welcome was very warm with a cup of coffee and some cake. Our room and bathroom were perfect: spacious, very clean and cozy! And the restaurant was up to the same high level as well: great service and delicious food! As bonus, the location and the views are great!

We stayed 3 nights and loved our room and meals while hiking in the mountains. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom. Our breakfasts were plentiful and fresh french pastries started our days. The dinners were 3 courses and plenty of food to fuel our hiking. The inn was quiet, views spectacular.

Lovely place to stay high up in the mountains with excellent views, especially from the swimming pool. Room provided all that was needed for a really pleasant stay. Warm welcome on arrival and throughout stay and attentive service. High quality food for dinner and breakfast. Would definitely go back.

Visited for the first time in 2012 and came back in July 2014 - still the same great place with a wonderful staff, full of hospitality. If you don't want to go anywhere, you can go for a hike around the hotel or stay whole day by the swimming pool....have a delicious lunch and dinner. Had a room on the... More

"Marmottes" is one of our favourites & we returned again in June 2014. The service is always excellent as is the location high in the Pyrenees. Wether you choose half board or the a la carte menu, quality is guaranteed. One small flaw is some,of the bedrooms are on the small side but this does not detract from the overall... More

We spent two nights at La Grange aux Marmottes during our 15-day trip through the Pyrenees. We started in Bilbao and ended the trip in Barcelona stopping at 7 different accomodations during the trip. This was the most enjoyable and interesting of all the places we stayed. First, the setting is outstanding. Viscos is barely a hamlet. High up on... More
