On a hill at the edge of this sleepy town full of young backpackers on their way to the nearby island paradises. Easy walk down to the town and nice chill out bars and cheap cocktails. Loved it staying 3 nights in one of their amazing bungalows. Great views with a nice breeze being on a hill. Sealed bedrooms with... More

I stayed at Bloo Lagoon with my husband and my mother for two nights. The view was amazing from the deck, the rooms were not at all private (open air), the kitchen was not clean (all dishes were dirty and moldy), and the kitchen ware was seriously in need of being replaced. The beds were firm and small. The pool... More

Being ecological designers we try to use natural breezes instead of air conditioning. The rooms are designed to be open and use the natural breeze, but all bedrooms and bathrooms have doors that can be closed. We have firm beds as most guests prefer them. The beds are standard European queen size (1.60mx2m) Although we have used salt pools in... More

Travelling with my 74yr old mum we "did" Bali in short hops. On day 2 we arrived in Padangbai, sleeping over in one of the villas at Bloo Lagoon (no 23?). The two bedrooms were separate "pavilions" with big sliding doors on 3 sides. Both en suite bathrooms were outdoors and all of this sat on a large deck under... More

I was at Bloo lagoon resort yesterday, brilliant place $120 per double per night, great villas, pool restaurant, clean new, private outdoor bath shower area, views over a very pretty area. I was offered $100' it's off season.

Having decided to holiday in the Gili Islands from Singapore, decided that the best option was to stay a night or two in Padangbai. We decided to give Bloo Lagoon a try, even though we are not big on eco-tourism as it, we thought, implies austerity and responsibility, two things furthest from our minds when holidaying! So we booked two... More

We stayed in villa number 24 which was absolutely massive! It had 3 queen sized beds and a day bed. Much too big for 2 people. The villa was set on a hill overlooking the water. The view was spectacular and I really enjoyed the bird-watching from the balcony. As the accommodation was open to the elements, we got a few... More

Bloo Lagoon is amonst the trees on the top of a hill overlooking Padangabi. We had villa 6, a 2 bedroom villa, which was well set up. Shower was a bit of a problem, trying to get the hot water to work was a bit hit and miss. We had 2 showers and found that if one did not fire... More

This is the best Padangbai has to offer. I stayed in 1B which I believe is the only villa with aircon in both bedrooms. The view is great from this villa - towards the east in the Candidasa direction. The villa was not entirely clean on check in - ants in the sugar and the outdoor bathrooms were covered in... More

This is an unusual place. It is a series of very beautiful villas perched high on a hill with views of a beautiful bay and volcano. The birdwatching is spectacular - from your bedroom. The villas were built as a group, but each is owed by a different owner. Some rooms have accordion-style windowed walls that fold away, others have... More

The architecture and setting is fantastic. The problem is the maintenance, it is dirty and it doesn't seem to be managed well. Even the bathroom in the lobby is as clean as your average sit down restaurant in town, avoid touching anything. After going to the pool after we checked in, we went back to our room to find two...
