If you travel for work frequently to one city you think wouldn't it be great to have a place that feels like its home. Brooklyn Arts Hotel is such a place. It is a short tram ride from the city and every room is different. There's a wonderful kitchen, dining area you can wander into any time of day. Maggie,... More

Myself and three friends stayed in two of the rooms at the Brooklyn Arts Hotel. We had one twin and one single+dbl bed. All the staff were very lovely and accommodating. The place is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Located extremely close to the fashionable Gertrude Street with Smith Street and Brunswick Street a couple of tram stops away it... More

Thanks for the lovely Sydney siders feedback on your stay at Brooklyn and your time in Fitzroy. The twin single rooms are affordable and great for friends catching up. As you mentioned our Queen sized rooms can also provide an additional extra bed but still leave lots of room to accommodate all your shopping finds! We're glad you enjoyed the... More

This is a great hotel on a lovely quiet street very close to the great bars and shops of Brunswick street and Smith street, and Melbourne museum. We had a double with shared bathroom facilities which was always free, the room was big and wonderfully decorated. Big comfy bed.free WiFi. And two lovely labradors to hang out with! They give... Thanks for the lovely review and so glad you enjoyed your stay at Brooklyn. We sometimes forget the novelty of having your own keys to the place and the freedom that affords guests staying here - no waiting for grumpy night desk clerks to let you in ... no arguments either about the great location. Please come visit us again... More

I booked two rooms for myself and my 3 adult kids to have a mum and kids weekend and couldn't have chosen a better place. Warm and cozy, comfy beds, lovely host, it felt like being at home. The locations was so, so good for closeness to Brunswick street, Smith street and Gertrude street shops and eateries, and just down... More

So glad to that you and your family members felt at home at Brooklyn and coped without having TV- funny what sends some potential guests running for the hills is such a drawcard for many of our regular guests ( with the location its a sin to waste too much time in front of the box). We make no apologies... More

A beautiful, colourful and quirky boutique hotel. Full of lovely art works and nic nacs. An ideal location. Trams available either of the street. Continental breakfast interesting with the people sharing the table. Comfortable rooms. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful. slight drawback is car parking. Will definitely stay again.

I was very happy to land in friendly, funny and bohemian travellers home for my first three nights in Australia. And I was lucky to meet Maggie herself, having breakfast and chatting with us at the communal table. She made me feel very welcome. I liked the hospitality of the house, like leaving the dining room open all day, for... More

'Absolutely fabulous' vibe with great staff and delightful rooms. The shared table was a pleasure with a variety of interesting folks with whom to talk to and share experiences. As an ageing fashionista I was also enormously impressed with Gertrude Street, just around the corner, with its fantastic array of uber hip boutiques, restaurants and antique/vintage stores. In the immortal... More

Thanks Julian for your lovely review of your stay with us. I do remember your own fashionista style of dress and the great time you had acquainting yourself with Gertrude Street. I have become a regular at Brooklyn Arts. I live in the countryside and make regular medical trips to Melbourne. I have tried a number of Fitzroy accommodations and have settled on this one.
