We stayed at the hotel for two nights, on our way back home from a holiday which we spent initially at the Parador in Ubeda, before driving through the Sierra de Cazorla, the Sierra de Segura and finally to Riópar, in the Sierra de Alcaraz. On the approach to Ubeda there are mountains totally covered in cultivated olive groves; miles... More

This is a very tranquil hotel in the mountains outside Alcaucin. We spent three days here with friends while we explored the local area and enjoyed it enormously. The hotel has a small restaurant which served two excellent dinners for us, although breakfast was a little uninspiring. The rooms have fantastic views over the mountains and the small terrace and... We headed here for a few days of total chilling and it was perfect. A little hard to find but once we arrived it was spot on Sat up in the mountains it was delightful place to stay We were welcomed and once sorting our bags we headed out to the cute pool and remained there all day Wonderful location... We arrived two days after getting married, and were more exhausted than we realised. But we found the perfect place to recharge in beautiful surroundings. The pool was a brilliant place to chill out with lovely local villages to explore and Granada less than two hours away. The weather was perfect and Alfonso was really welcoming. Would definitely recommend as... More

Clean, spacious rooms with a/c, and the view of the mountains from the pool terrace is fantastic. Alfonso is a charming host - attentive, but also nicely laid back. Note - it would be a bit of a drive if you wanted to eat elsewhere, but the menu has enough variety for a stay of several days, and the food... More

The Hotel Cortijo de Salia is a typical "rural" hotel in that it sits well away (directions to follow!) from the coastal resorts and offers travellers an opportunity to get up close and personal with the real Spanish countryside. In our experience, these hotels generally have all modern facilities and perhaps most importantly, offer much better value for money than... More

Get away from the hustle and bustle of the coast and relax. Perfect base from which to explore the lovely countryside at your leisure or just laze around doing nothing, surrounded by nature. The owner was very welcoming and the food was delicious and different - try it for yourself!

We stayed two nights at the hotel prior to our taking residence in a villa close by for two weeks. It is a beautiful, charming Spanish rural retreat that exudes charm and atmosphere. Ideal for a quiet few days, there is a small garden area with tables and a modest swimming pool to escape the sun's rays and cool off.... More

We stayed at the Cortijo de Salia in June for two weeks, and we had a great time. We - a family of two adults and two kids (3 and 6 years old) - enjoyed the calm atmosphere, the nice pool, the beautiful garden and the nice view. At the time of our stay the climate down at the sea... More

We booked here really just to break up the drive between Malaga and Granada, and, as you'd expect in this price range, it is a very simple place - 6 rooms, a garden and a dining room. However, our room was spotless and had a lovely view down the valley, we had the garden & pool to ourselves most days,... More
