Spent a lovely weekend with family of all ages. Clean newly renovated rooms, comfortable beds, great all you can eat buffet style breakfast and dinner. Tons of food excellent variety and selection. The "hanging gardens" are wonderfully restored. Beautiful!

The hotel is in lovely charming Lillafured. The hotel looks like an old castle but it has been refurbished. The rooms are a bit small but clean and the food is good quality. It is not the most child friendly hotel but my kids did not mind it too much. But for families 2 days are enough to enjoy the... More

This hotel (which in our tour info was spelled both "Palola" and "Palota". is a true gem. Everything we experienced was top-notch. The hotel is a knockout, the grounds are beautiful, and the food is excellent. The rooms are very good and well-appointed. Our only regret was that we had only one night at the hotel. An excellent hike up... More

The hotel is situated in a very nice park at the shore of a small lake, surrounded by the hills of the Bükk national park. The hotel is a castle built in eclectic style. Also the interior is completely in that same style. There is a renewed wellness centre in the basement of the building with two swimming pools, a... More

Lillafured is one of the more romantique place in Hungary and of course you should stay at Palota.......still the same building when princess and emperor used to travel in this part of Europe. The personnel is quite nice especially in a country not exactly customer oriented I had a nice room with view on the lake (rooms and some interiors... More

I had read many reviews of this hotel ahead of a business trip, most of them very pro or con. I really went in very positive. Getting there and walking into the hotel, lobby and my room, it was as es expected: an old world look and feel, the room itself trying to not be dated but not overly modern... More

Where do I start... Passed the Hotel and got lost straight away due to the fact that there was no clear signs pointing us to the wright direction. Extremely rude staff. I've had better welcomes at camping grounds. No concierge (or offer to help with bags) Place is falling apart. Room smells like old people. The hotel in general smells... More

Perfect place to recover and rest in north east Hungary. Beautiful nature, wonderful people. Professional and friendly staff. Historical place beautifully preserved. Don't miss the ride on the little train in the forest.

A remarkable place--a 1930s castle-like building renovated to 4-star comfort, in beautiful natural surroundings. There are many possible activities, making it a great place for families (though we didn't see many there): swimming (indoor), spa, bowling, darts, caves, narrow gauge train, hiking, rowboats, climbing the tower in the hotel. Excellent wifi, with both indoor and outdoor areas to use it.... More

My family spent here in the last 10 years several weekends. The hotel has unique furniture and great interiors. Our children loves it! Some parts of our favourite movie was filmed here (Magyar vándor - The Hungarian Strayer). Park is beautiful in autumn and winter. The new wellness area is quiet and has high quality.
