Returned to the delightful Cottage in the Wood after a gap of 10 years to celebrate our wedding anniversary and found the the two AA rosette dinners as superb as we remembered, but one or two other things needing attention. In a nutshell, the stunning views are inevitably becoming more obscured with time, as trees in front of the Pinnacles... More

The room was a little disappointing being old fashioned (though appropriate for a Country Hotel) and just a little tired. The bed was large and comfortable but the plumbing was noisy and the drive up to the hotel is precipitous and not for the faint-hearted! All the staff were warm and friendly and breakfast was excellent and generous.

just returned from two days in this lovely hotel. Booked direct with Sian - as I have mobility problem and she was able to assist in a suitable room for me and advised disable bay in front of hotel. Warm welcome on arrival - although it was mid afternoon Annabelle looked after us and got us coffee . Evening meal... More

Trees obstruct views on ground floor level. There were plenty of people staying with their dogs, which I do not agree with, especially when the prices are not especially cheap. Rather stay at The Abbey, if you have a dog they have particular rooms.

We only stayed the one night but what a gem this hotel is. Beautiful location and lovely accommodation. Very noticeable attention to detail for the guests comfort. . The food was fantastic and the staff were efficient and courteous. Obviously trained very well. Would relish the opportunity to stay again.

I found The Cottage in the Wood almost by accident while searching on line for a place to stay in the Malvern Hills area. Well what a find it was. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels both home and abroad during my 65 years of life and to be honest a few have been very good but most have... More

We stayed in Room 5, for 2 nights. The hotel has three buildings on its site, two traditional and one modern. Room 5 is in the main, traditional building. Our room was spacious, quiet and the 4 poster bed comfortable, the en-suite bath and shower room was a little dated but everything worked, with lashings of hot water and fluffy... More

Thanks very much for the complimentary feedback following your stay. We are delighted that you all enjoyed the "Thrill on the Hill" event locally and then rounded it off with a group dinner later that evening. Your assistance in planning the event was very helpful and working together like this in advance really does help us give a smoother service.... More

We stayed overnight on 11th July 2015 - booked from an internet trawl....and what a find this place is. Very traditional feel to the place. Staff couldn't be more helpful.....all of the staff....superb service but from genuinely nice people.....not forced in any way. The views from the garden terrace, restaurant and as it happens by an accident of great fortune... More
