The view over the Severn valley is to die for, and you can walk right out of the hotel grounds and up onto the Malvern Hills. Breakfast very good - if standard Full English plus buffet. Evening meal was excellent, wine list extensive (if some expensive - but appropriate for hotel prices). Attentive staff with personal touches. Can only comment... More

Stayed over the bank holiday weekend. Very comfortable room although we didn't have a view. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and service of the same standard even though they were fully booked. Great location would definitely return. We did however find the bar prices a bit steep.

After a couple of short recent stays we’re delighted that The Cottage in the Wood is as good as ever having stayed there a few times over recent years: excellent food and drink with pleasant professional service; good rooms with attention to small details that make a good place exceptional e.g. handmade biscuits with the tea-making facilities, and complimentary mineral... We stayed here last year and were wowed. We got this deal on living social and were very happy with the price we payed. We were given a choice of rooms and stopped in the cottage. Yes, the rooms are not decorated in a modern design but the decoration suits the hotel. You do feel like you are in a... More

Without a shadow of a doubt, the views are stunning, the hotel overall is good but was it worth £198 per night? no. That is a lot of money and, for me, it would have to be pretty exceptional all round to be worth that. My room was clean but there was too much furniture in it which made it... More

We visited the Cottage in the Wood for lunch and, as usual, it was a very enjoyable affair. Unusually, we all chose the same dish; this was local Evesham asparagus, new potatoes and Parma ham. Given what it was, I suppose the collective choice was not that surprising. It was very well cooked, neatly served and was delicious. So, well... More

I visited the Cottage in the Wood for the first time in August 2014. The weather was a typical British Summer day, with daytime temperature of 19 degrees going down to 10 degrees at night. I mention this from the outset as I fully understand the comments made by travellers who stayed in hot weather, as the only air conditioning... More

Special occasions are always a bit fraught with wanting everything to be "right", especially as it was your fathers birthday rather than yours, so I'm absolutely delighted we all did our bit and the stay was everything that you wanted. Thank you for your detailed comments and compliments to the team. It has been shared. I note your comments about... More

My Wife & I spent one Sunday night in July at the Cottage in the Wood, on route to Devon. We found the Staff most helpful throughout our stay. Our room had a magnificent views over the country side. The only down side for us was the Dinner. We found the menu very limited and the food quite bland. We felt... More

I was sorry to hear your dinner was a disappointment. We have now changed the menu which was I admit, over-due. We are now working on the next one to get fully back on track. I wont bore you with the details! I'm glad the rest of the stay was to your satisfaction. Many thanks for the feedback. John More

Very comfortable hotel with very friendly owners and staff. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout including fresh milk in fridges for those who don't like UHT. Plenty of space in the bedrooms but the bed was a little on the small size for me although others in our party said they were fine in theirs. Breakfast is cooked to order and... More

Thank you for your review. We are all very pleased your party of six all enjoyed the stay and the food. I'm checking on the black puddling particularly as I like it and it can be a great start to the day! Hope to see you again one day. John More

We were there for a celebration weekend. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Food and accommodation were excellent with great attention to detail. Stunning views rounded off an amazing experience.

All breaks are important but when it's a celebration it is both a relief that all goes well with the choice of hotel, the rooms and of course the food and service, so I'm delighted your gathering was such a success. Thank you for posting a review. John More
