Sunday lunch at the Wellesley is excellent! Although it was Mothers Day and extremely busy the roast was beautifully cooked and presented, great value for such a huge portion and delicious dessert. The staff are so helpful and friendly and we weren't made to feel rushed. Will be booking again very soon.

We only found this Inn by chance, taking a Sat Nav route. Thank you Sat Nav. We stopped en route to be with friends for the weekend on Sat 15th March and rather than use the Services we needed a pub lunch. We were certainly not disappointed. My husband had Lasagne and I had Wiltshire ham and eggs. Friendly staff... More

After a long wait we received two shepherd's pies covered in thick, dark Bisto type gravy. Tiny pieces of gristly meat and the potato tasted of much reheating. Inedible. 'It must a personal thing,' said the manager, offering not one penny off the bill or any sort of replacement. Chaotic service at the bar. Nastiest meal I've had in GB... More

We spent an afternoon here in February 2014 for a family get together, and ended up staying considerably longer than anticipated due to unforeseen circumstances. The owners (Andy and Sam) were fantastic - they made us very welcome with our 3 year old daughter and 94 year old grandmother, and went out of their way to look after us whilst... More

We stopped here today & had to comment on the lovely lunch we had...we chose just sandwiches & jacket potato but the presentation was superb. Both served on a wooden board complete with salad presented beautifully, coleslaw & vegetable crisps....my salmon & cream cheese sandwich was huge but soft brown bread & lots of filling. My partners jacket potato was... More

I went there on Saturday 14th December 2013 for a family meal (oldest 74 and youngest 16 months) and we had a lovely time. Staff very fryiendly and accommodating to our needs. The food was well presented and lots of it too even the kids meals were twice the size you would normally expect. Give it a try!!

Yet another delicious meal last night at The Wellesley. We had burgers, pork belly and ribs - all excellent quality, meat locally sourced, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The chocolate orange creme brulee was outstanding! The staff are friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and there is now a children's... More

Stopped off for some lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Found the service to be very friendly. Menu had all the pub classics you'd expect and the two we tried were both very tasty. Value for money was fantastic

Impromptu visit one Saturday lunchtime. They were quite busy, but not packed. Bar service was prompt and pleasant. When ordering we considered a cornish pasty - apparently they are cooked to order and take about 25 minutes. On this occasion we wanted a quick "pitstop" so we decided to have a cheeseburger instead. We waited a little too long -... More
