Stayed here for one night early February. The location is a quiet, leafy suburb of Headingly, literally minutes from the restaurants and pubs etc. The grand and imposing hotel is a beautiful Victorian building with an annexe adjacent, where my larger double was. The room was massive with period furniture and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. Ample tea... More

I picked this hotel because of its proximity to where I needed to be next morning. I was very pleased with my choice. Haley's is not one of the big anonymous chain hotels. It has a very warm and welcoming feel and has character. I stayed in a single room which had a very comfortable large single bed and all... More

My husband and I stayed here for one might when we dropped our university student daughter off at her new flat in Headingley. Short walk up a leafy Lane from the buzzing Otley Road close to bars, shops and restaurants and bus stops.Warm welcome and easy check in at reception.Traditional style room, view of bins( but didn't expect a great view)lovely... Was heading to Leeds for an important, sentimental reunion with the area and friends so did some informed research in advance. Seemed a little pricey and the comments by the owner were a tad curt but on balance booked on the basis of the facilities, location ( 2 mins walk from The Oak) and the majority of the reviews. I... Reception staff not friendly or very knowledgeable about e.g. parking (disabled) or room service, morning newspapers). Had to leave the main hotel in the pouring rain to go to our room in an annex (dispite explaining about disability on booking and ringing up to confirm a few days before our stay). Rooms badly in need of refurbishment.

The ground floor bedrooms are in Bedford House 6 meters from the side of the hotel, Bedford house is a grade 2 listed building with certain restrictions on what you can alter. Thank you Gordon Jowett M.D. More

Fine hotel, very pleasant atmosphere, and it felt wam and welcoming. If you like a very hard bed, you'll be thrilled. Unfortunately for me it was like sleeping on concrete, and as a result wan't very comfortable. That is the only reason I would not book there again. Stairs only, no lift, so be aware if you struggle with stairs.... More

There seems to be an issue about the new beds with memory foam toppers. This is the first adverse comments since installing these new quality beds. I don't understand why we can't get guests out of bed on a morning for breakfast. Gordon Jowett M.D. More

TripAdvisor don't offer you a rating between 3=average and 4=very good. We'd give Haley's 3.5. There are plenty of good things to enjoy here, but perhaps there's room to make the offer even better. On arriving, you might take this to be a 4 star establishment. It looks like a spacious country house, set in a prosperous leafy street near... More
