Having read some of the reviews for this hotel, I booked with some trepidation and so my preconceptions were pretty low. However, given I needed a hotel close to the NEC and they were offering me a rate considerably cheaper than the other branded hotel's in the vicinity, I decided to take the plunge. On arrival I was impressed by... more

Three of us stayed in two adjoining bedrooms. Nice compact good looking hotel which was clean and inviting as you entered. The bedrooms were smallish but adequate and fitted with good furniture. The staff were helpful & friendly. Problems if any are sorted out efficiently. The dining room was very attractive and the amenities are good. There is a good... more

This is not a bad hotel, but does not offer good value. The cost for the night was £140 or so. For the same or less money I have stayed in far superior 4 star hotels in London! This hotel's location close to the NEC and motorcycles centre allows them to abuse their "monopoly" position in the city. With just... more

I work in the music industry which involves a lot of travel and of course a lot of time in hotels world wide. I stayed at the Arden on 14th of this month. May I say after reading some of the reviews I had my reservations. However much to my surprise I could only think the people who have written... more

Stayed for 1 night in March '09 on business. This is a 3 * hotel, in a good location close to the airport and link roads. Nice staff and a good welcome on arrival. Rooms are small, I had a twin although i had asked for a double and booked 2 months in advance, apparently the hotel was full? The... more

Thank you for your comments, which on the whole were positive. There appears to have been an error in the room you were allocated and for this I apologise. The condition of the corridor is a recurring theme. Since last summer, we have refurbished all but one wing's corridors. Unfortunately this corridor (on both floors) is a main thorough fare...

I stayed here from 6th to 8th March while visiting Crufts. Having read the reviews, I was hoping for a pleasant surprise. I really needed to be within walking distance of Crufts as I had a young relative with me whom I knew would need a rest during the day and wanted to go back to the hotel for same.... more

Despite reading some negative reviews on the Arden Hotel Bickenhill, due to the excellent position I decided to take the plunge. I was greated by excellent check in staff, they were pleasant, accomodating and smartly dressed. Although extremely busy nothing was to much trouble! My room was a little small, however it was clean, well proportioned, immaculately decorated and had... more

Thank you for your generous review, and I think your comments regarding us not being a five star hotel are very pertinent. I suspect that some of the negative reviews we have received are off customers who are used to staying at five star establishments. We like to think that our facilities and level of service far exceed that of...

Initial impressions are of a nice reception and hotel. Don't be fooled, head upstairs to find peeling wallpaper and thread-bare carpets. Having booked a double bed room with my wife we were disappointed to find two singles. We contacted reception only to be told that the hotel was fully booked and that was that. Not a huge problem we were... more

I was sorry to read your comments, and would like to apolgise for the negative experience you had. All rooms are furnished to a good standard, and I can only assume you are referring to the wallpaper down a specific corridor which is schuduled to be redecorated over the summer. Without more specific details I can't really comment about you...

I visited this hotel along with six colleagues for a business trip that involved staying here for 3 nights. We all stay in hotels on a regular basis up and down the country and so the following comments come from direct comparisons. The general hygiene of the place is poor, it was difficult to find clean crockery at breakfast and... more

I was dismayed to read your comments regarding your recent stay and may I start by apologising as your experience was not up to the required standard. I will deal with your concerns in turn. There is no excuse for dirty crockery to reach front of house. All tableware is machine washed and then polished as the table is set....

I have stayed at the Arden twice now and will be returning to take part in a workshop in Apil. I have always found the staff very friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurant has always been of top standard, breakfast is always fresh, cooked breakfast always hot and plenty of it. I have always had a nice... more
