I stayed the one night on route to Lands End, and Elaine and Brian made a weary cyclist feel very welcome. The room was perfect, and the bed comfortable. I'd have no problem recommending Monarch House to family or friends.

We stayed at Monach house as part of a cycle trip, were made really welcome by Elaine and Brian, despite arriving wet and tired. They helped us to sort out our bikes and gear, and Elaine offered to wash our wet clothing. So welcoming. Lovely room, all facilities were fantastic. The highlight was the breakfast, they are superb cooks. The... More

A warm friendly reception, from Elaine, on arrival quickly followed by afternoon tea and home made and grown strawberry cream cake. There is only one room for B&B which is very comfortable and well appointed with a comfy bed. A nice en-suite walk in shower, plenty of hanging/storage space. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room that serves as breakfast... More

We stopped en-route to Orkney and it really felt as though our holiday had begun at Monach House. The rooms were really comfortable with everything you could hope for. Lovely soft towels, comfortable bed, beautifully decorated rooms. We had a lovely warm welcome from Elaine which made us feel at home immediately. After several hours sat in a warm car... More

We found this B&B because we happened to be booked in for dinner at the restaurant next door and wanted somewhere to stay and this was the first one we found. Delighted that we found it and will without doubt be back again. The room is lovely, everything you need - including hair straighteners! Fabulous huge cups and saucers (although... More

This is our 2nd visit and it is worth travelling 12,000 miles for twice, from New Zealand. Elaine & Brian are exceptional hosts and we were made to feel so welcome from the start. The comfort of their home is so relaxing and the warmth of their hospitality, I feel as though we have made life long friends, including the... More

We stayed here late August 2013 and quite simply, we couldn't fault it. The Hosts, Brian and Irene go to extremes to make sure you have everything you could want from a B + B. The accommodation was superb with comfortable beds, very clean rooms, a ridiculous choice in teas available in the room, they even provide eye makeup remover... More

We knew we were in for a treat when we heard there would be scallops for dinner! but we couldn't have guessed how warm a welcome we would have after our long drive from Wiltshire. The bedroom and its ensuite bathroom was immaculate, with everything you could think of from fluffy towels to hairdryer, and ginger biscuits to flowers..and a... More
