We have been to the duke of Wellington to eat twice now since it has been refurbished, to be fair the decor is nice and gardens are tidy and well kept. The food is great but really expensive and the second time we ate there the portion size had reduced considerably. You have to remember this is not a posh... More

Came here with my family yesterday, baby of 8 months, daughter aged 3 and husband. We stood and waited by a waitress to ask if we were to find our own seat and were ignored. We were then told to find a seat, clearly in need of a high chair non were offered. We sat for 15 minutes without an... More

I stay around this area a couple nights a week and my usual places were booked. I won't be staying here again - stay are pleasant, food is good but the rooms are very tired, cold and in-need of serious updating (last look like they were done in the 80s) Leatherhead Travelodge is better (and if you ever stayed there... I had to stay here as travel plans changed at the last minute and my usual hotel was fully booked and The Duke was the only place available. The Duke is basically a 16th century pub with converted stables which are now the bedrooms. My room, whilst reasonably clean was in need of a serious makeover. Extremely tired decor and... More

this is our second stay only because its near to our daughter and convenient the room was fine except for the constant droning off a fan somewhere in the roof and the bed made horrible noises every time you moved.think it was the floor. the service in the bar was good as was the food.

We turn up at the Duke of Wellington pub for a meal. As we open the door we was greeted by a member of the staff and felt very welcome. We sat by the open fire the atmosphere was great with in a couple on minuets a lovey lady advised as to sit on a better table to be more... More

Where to start! The bed felt like a stack of pallets with a couple of inches of foam for a mattress, such poor quality. Only one bedside lamp for a double bed. The duvet cover was stained. General cleanliness of the room was very poor. Stained carpets, the single chair had threadbare upholstery. One single coat hanger in the wardrobe.... More

we came to this pub a few years ago and had a completely different experience. this time it was like walking into the phoenix club. dog bowls everywhere, it stunk of dog. the menu was from the 80's where the special was a lasagne! went to the bar and asked for drinks, got my pint more or less thrown at... The service and the food in the pub were ok (service charge of 10%). Our room wasn’t brilliant, the foam mattress bed was well slept in, there was a filthy mark up the wall by the bed and the bathroom sink and toilet weren’t clean (I wiped a piece of tissue across the sink and it was black). The shower... More

We ate here one evening as we didn't want the full works at Horsley Park. The service was friendly and helpful and so were the workmen standing at the bar. I had one of the best burgers I've had in a long while, tasty and juicy - cooked to perfection. It wasn't fine dining but it was good value.
