Had a last minute dinner here on 20 June as could not get a table anywhere else in the area. Very friendly and accommodating staff with lovely food. Honest and thoughtful suggestions for wine from staff when they did not have my first choice. Great setting too.

Upon arrival at The Dolphin we were warmly welcomed and offered a most welcome drink before being taken up to our room( #2). We were delighted with our room as it was very clean and most comfortable, with a lovely bathroom and a super king size bed that helped us to have a great nights sleep. The bar was well... More

Last November our party paid a deposit here for this weekend. A call a few weeks ago revealed they had actually sold our rooms to someone else. The management sorted that by booking rooms at a B&B in Aldringham. We were in Thorpeness for my sister-in-laws 50th & we were staying at the house in the clouds. Having my daughters... More

We visited The Dolphin last weekend after the crowds at Aldeburgh beat us for lunch, and what an inspired decision it turned out to be. Even though the pub was very busy on our arrival the helpful staff found us an unused 'reserved' table. Menus perused, drinks ordered (the local Adnams Ales are excellent), you beer drinkers out there try... More

We arrived towards the end of lunch service and were treated with open arms. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing. We will definitely return if in the area again. We had a selection of food to share, sharing platter, cheeseboard and a sausage sandwich all were lovely.

Thorpeness is a bit mad, a house in the clouds, a 3ft deep pond and some amazing architecture for such a small village buts it's lovely and so is the Dolphin. First impressions were that it oozed with great hospitality and we had a warm welcome. The local ales were spot on, the menu was full of imagination but not... More

Wow!! Thank you, very kind words, Thorpeness is a very unique and truly lovely village with a lovely boating lake, an extensive summer programme, lovely walks and of course just down the road, Minsmeare recently featured on Springwatch. We are very pleased you enjoyed the menu and local ale and look forward to having you back again. More

we went to the Dolphin Inn during a house hunting trip in Suffolk. It's a lovely building set in a beautiful setting. The food vas lovely and fresh, with big portions so go hungry! The service as good too. The only minor problem was the acoustics as its all hard surfaces all sounds very very noisy and it was difficult... More

Six of us stayed 3 nights for a golfing holiday and had dinner in the restaurant two nights. The rooms were very good but could have benefitted from shower over baths. The food in the restaurant had good choices and was well cooked at fair prices. Breakfasts were excellent and we were very well looked after by all the staff.... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us online. We were a petty of 8 seniors, and we found The Dolphin by chance. We were made welcome by the cheerful and friendly staff, who soon made up a table for 8. Although the menu was not very extensive we all very much enjoyed our choices, and the prices were quite reasonable, too. A very pleasant experience.
