We were a petty of 8 seniors, and we found The Dolphin by chance. We were made welcome by the cheerful and friendly staff, who soon made up a table for 8. Although the menu was not very extensive we all very much enjoyed our choices, and the prices were quite reasonable, too. A very pleasant experience.

We stayed in nearby Aldeburgh and decided to walk off our huge breakfast along the seafront, I am not sure how far we walked but I am an inch shorter!! we stopped here for a welcome drink on our way back, the beer was just as it should be and the wine good and cold, very busy with food but... Many thanks to the team at The Dolphin for a lovely night on Friday 13th March. We arrived at 7pm and were greeted by a warm pub and busy bar with a log fire in the grate ( why this is important I know not but it is ! ) All the staff smiled and said "hello" - the owner... More

We stayed here for three nights in one of their comfortable rooms. Breakfast was really good and there was an excellent choice for evening meals, all well cooked and served. The pub is in the heart of Thorpeness and very much part of the community. Dogs are made welcome in the grounds and in a section of the restaurant. We... More

What a find! A lovely pub serving good food with great value rooms compared to other establishments in the area. There is a lovely community feel to this pub. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.

Stayed here just before Xmas 13 and had a nice stay. Stayed for two nights between Xmas and new year just gone. Had room 1 not out of choice. This is a noisy room!! It's directly over the main entrance and the bar so the noise from there is loud and annoying. The bed is also directly against the wall... More

Thank you very much for all your comments, in Thorpeness we are very lucky to be an attractive destination in both the summer months for those seaside holidays and over the festive season for traditional country breaks. Thorpeness is a unique small sea side village that has an active local community as well as being a budding tourist destination with... More

We called in on New Years Eve just for a drink as the restaurant was fully booked. As always we received a very friendly welcome and on learning that we had found it impossible to find anywhere to eat they offered to cook us a meal even though they were obviously totally full with diners celebrating New Years Eve. In... More

Thank you very much for your lovely comments, we are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Unfortunately we inherited the rooms and as it is a major undertaking to physically change the layout of the bathroom we are slowly renovating the rooms, bathrooms and including showers. Hopefully next time you visit us all this work... More

We stayed here for 4 nights having never visited Suffolk before, following a recommendation from Sawday's. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was. There are only 3 bedrooms above the pub, very cosy room with pine furniture and a lovely window seat. It's located a 2 minute walk from the sea and from the fairy tale centre... More

We stayed here for one night in. October, had a great time. Food, service and staff all very good. Room very comfortable, unfortunately the guy in the next room kept flushing the toilet at night, but I guess we were just unlucky here. Would stay here again.
