I can honestly say it's best pub in the area! Whenever I travel to Suffolk I always try to make my way to this pub. The food is delicious and portions are rather big so it's an excellent value for money. Staff will always go the distance to make it special for you and the Landlord is always trying to... More

Thorpeness is quant little suffolk village with a lake opposite the pub. The food is above average pub grip with a little thought flair thrown in at reasonable prices. The service friendly and efficient. Recommended especially for a summer lunch in the garden.

For a village pub with an excellent restaurant, efficient and willing service, log fires in the winter, choice of well maintained beers, and a very welcoming landlord and staff, what is not to like! We attended their themed 1920s New Years Eve Speakeasy evening. The Inn had made an amazing effort to turn the interior into Speakeasy mode, with lots... More

Used to live in Ipswich when i was young and whenever i go back i just love dropping in here for evening meal or sunday lunch. It's such a quintessential Suffolk pub and, for me, is one of my favourite places to go. If you visit in the summer then sitting outside having a meal with friends in the sun... More

Obviously a very popular village pub opposite The Meare with very friendly staff. Dogs are allowed in the bar area where the food is also served, plus a separate restaurant area. Get in early or you may need to book. Tuesday before Christmas and it was packed all evening. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, the slow cooked shin... More

Nine of us met up for a long weekend in Suffolk, renting a house within yards of The Dolphin and we booked a table for dinner. Food was excellent and the atmosphere generated by copious drinks was very special for a combined birthday celebration with some of our best friends - extended 'family' we prefer to see them as. This... More

We stumbled on the Dolphin Inn as we spent a day in Suffolk. We were so thankful for finding this gem of a place - really friendly and amazing food. Hope to "stumble" on it again soon! Thank you for an amazing lunch!

We had dinner here but did not stay overnight so I can't comment on the rooms. We were a large table of 12. Service was excellent and the staff really friendly. The food was a bit of a mixed bag, several of our party had the mussells and they were not great, also a bit on the pricey side. All... More

Have just had my second stay at the Dolphin travelling on my own. I never feel uncomfortable when I visit as the staff are so welcoming. I stayed in room 3, a lovely room with views of the garden. Tea, coffee and mineral water available in the room. I had not booked a table for dinner but they were able... More
