I came with my moms church group last fall (sept) and was pleased with our visit. Mind you, looking at 20+ people is no small feat but our hosts had the patience of angels. We got settled in alright. I stayed in the judges masterrroom with my mom and a pair of sisters in our group. Great room btw. Love... More

We loved our stay here in the Clerks quarters. It is a lovely building, full of character and we were warmly looked after by Jenny who also served us a super breakfast ! Plenty of choice and all prepared to order. The room was comfy, the bathroom a bit of a squeeze... Overall we would return and absolutely recommend for... More

Stayed here last year in February or March whilst on a hen do. Brilliant place for large groups, we booked the whole house and the girls loved it. Absolutely bursting with character, open fire and great communal area. Proper little luxury to have the place to ourselves and so different from a bog standard hotel.

Plus points: 30 mins drive to Bath. Tea and coffee plus hairdryer and dressing gown available in the room. Free WiFi.plenty of parking Negatives: I appreciate this is an old Grade 2 listed building but some of it needs a lick of paint and a good clean. Chipped cups in our bedroom, bits of the bedstead are broken. The jets... More

now this review is old and i understand the jail rooms are no longer available, but i took the other half for a romantic break and stayed in the jail room which had a separate bathroom. Nancy was not there which was a shame as all the locals raved about her. the place was unique and slo glad we got... More

Old building used to be a court and gaol. The B&B side, apart from the lovely building, is friendly but fairly average in what it offers. It is well placed for touring Somerset and Bristol. The road traffic is noisy throughout the night. Rooms are small but okay. The mattress in our room liked to sag in the middle, which... More

Upon arriving at The Old Court, Nancy greeted us with such warmth into what is essentially her home. She offered tea or coffee, showed us to our lovely room (the Magistrates Chamber i believe) & booked us into the quirky Old Station Inn for a delicious dinner after a long day in Bristol. The room was nicely decorated with original... More

Now having (thankfully) been to prison my comparisons may be a touch imaginative! Cold and damp, no warm water, thin horrible sheets and very noisy would be my main points of concern. The beds at HMP are very well likely more comfortable, Maybe the government should house convicts here - it would be cheaper?

This review is very much out of date as we no longer offer our wonderful jail cell rooms to b&b guests.....reason is we are restricted to how many rooms we can offer without paying extortionate business rates. As the house was built in 1857, all rooms are different. You may enjoy our Magistrate's Chambers with en suite jacuzzi bath or... More
