Very comfortable accommodation with private parking and aside from the pub itself. Pub has a great atmosphere and landlord exceptional! Lovely place to visit for a pint, lunch or dinner, or stay. Children & pets welcome too which is a bonus. Food and service were excellent. Got to try the Saturday brunch or the Sunday carvery!

I stayed for just one night, in one of the six purpose built accommodation units. They are separate from the pub, so there is complete freedom to come and go. There is a feeling of a "unit' but this has been counteracted by a good level of decoration and some homely touches. The landlord and the other member of staff... More

Thank you for your comments we are aiming to maintain the experience and where possible improve it. We now have our own pizza oven and hand make our pizzas! The accommodation is still being maintained to the same standard and we think our service is just as good. Thank you again for your review. More

Been to the pub several times lovely location and great food normally BUT...I'm guessing it has changed hands.A quiet Wednesday night and food our took an hour to come to our table. One order was not warm so sent back and another steak order was overcooked and had no peas with it.Food itself tasted ok but just a disappointing disjointed service.... Thank you for your comments and they have now been addressed by a change in staff and menu. We now make our own home made pizzas and cook them in our own pizza oven, they are available for take away as well. If you are serious about your review why not come back and see the difference? We would welcome... More

This is a super pub. It has a lovely warm feel to it, really nice staff and good food too. My family particularly like the open fire in the lounge bar and that they are cool about us bringing our dog in too. This one's a gem.

The venue was excellent as were the staff. We were a party of 31 and we all had meals together and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were looking after us and also running the bar for the locals. The owners Darren & Victoria were excellent host's and my family, most of which come from Essex and... More

This was a smashing pub. The rooms are small but clean and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food was deelish. The ambience is lovely and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Will certainly stay here again next time we're down that way

This pub has a lovely ambience with its open fire and subtle lighting. Sadly however the food was not cheap and not exciting. (The service didn't feel too genuine either) In fact, wish we'd stayed at home. Thought we would give the local a chance again, but shan't be going back until they change ownership.

Stayed here on our way down to Cornwall, lovely pub and we were made to feel really welcome. Very dog friendly, they don't even charge extra for you to have a dog in the B&B rooms. The rooms are small, but newly decorated, clean and well equipped with tea, coffee, milk & cereals. We had a lovely cooked breakfast, which... More

Called in without booking. Several tables were reserved but we were given a table in the restaurant. Attractive pub both inside and out. Very relaxing atmosphere. Friendly and pleasant staff/owners. Nice mixture of specials and 2 courses for £12 options. Excellent fayre served up and in man size portions. 3 or 4 real ales on offer at the bar, all... More
