We stayed in the Stewart Tower room with views across the front lawn of the castle. The room was very large with a great big four poster bed that was very comfortable. I felt like a princess staying in this room. There was a nice coffee/tea set up with cookies and sherry to enjoy after dinner. The disappointing things were... More

We have stayed at Dalmunzie several times . It is a lovely building in a beautiful location with a delightful charm about it. The rooms we have stayed in are delightfully furnished and we have always experienced excellent food and been looked after by the most friendly and attentive staff. Because of this we chose to have our wedding here.... More

A Gin and Tonic cost £7. A cider and and half pint was £8. Queue in the bar was 15 minutes. What was a classic hotel is now over priced. The lunch menu was very limited and generally dissapointing. No change available either.

On the southern edge of Cairngorms National Park, in a large valley belonging to the same owner, a small hotel, lost in a middle of nowhere, oldish but then it is part of the charm. Great place for visiting surrounding mountains or just enjoying the nature. Nice restaurant on premises, probably a little too / artificially sophisticated for the place... More

We have stopped in for meals or a drink on past trips, and this trip was no exception. Served drinks in the bar by a chatty barmaid and took them outside on a glorious day. Lovely relaxing afternoon taking in the scenery.

We got married here 5 years ago and have been back several times since. The staff are attentive, the food is unbelievable, the rooms are lovely and the scenery is breathtaking. Great big snuggly sofas in front of huge open fire places and a huge choice of single malts - pure heaven. Can't wait to go again soon. xx

We spent a night here last weekend, after a day of hill walking, and were very impressed. The staff were attentive, service was great, food fantastic, and the place is full of character. As stated in other reviews, a night here does not come cheap, but that may be due to it having been the hunting season at the time.... More

We were upgraded to the Birkmyre room and we stayed for 2 nights. It was pretty much perfect. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom spacious. Just make sure you shower at the right time as hot water seems to be on a timer. We enjoyed a walk up the Glen the first evening to the old hunting lodge.... More

very disappointing and in need of a reality check. Normally I wouldn't care for all the things I am about to mention but for the price point they have set at circa 100 quid a night, it should be flawless to ensure that you are getting value for your money. So many things wrong. The decor is flat, banged up... More

Despite the very friendly staff always eager to help, and the very good dinner, the overall impression was disappointing, as several other recent reviewers have highlighted. Examples incl: - carparking at the side/back of the shooting lodge (not a castle) let down by looking onto a rear window with a broken screen - wall plants growing on the front of... More
