My son & I stayed here on a walking trip. Friendly helpful and great food. I found it hard to fault and appreciated Scott's advice. I am not sure I can add more except I hope to go back again in the not to distant future

Hi 48Fred48, It is great to hear that you and your son enjoyed your visit to Rannoch Moor. Walking is a great way to explore the moor and experience its wilderness. On your next visit you could try exploring other areas by bike or using the West Highland Railway Line to access other stations on the route. Steph continues to... More

A wonderful place, a real escape from almost anywhere and a great spot from which to explore the beautiful and wild Rannoch Moor. Good well presented food and superb service. Hope to be able to go back one day.

Hi Tom H, We agree that Rannoch Moor is a great place to escape to with a chance to unwind due to our lack of wifi / tv / mobile signals. The landscape on offer is stunning and seems to change on an hour by hour basis depending on the light and weather conditions. It is a great place to... More

I knew we were in for a good time when we called to say we were on or way but would be late and asked when dinner was, "when you arrive!" The hotel is small, 5 bedrooms, so the standard of customer care is most definitely on a one to one basis. I drove there but only as it was... More

Hi ian r, We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your March Break with us and that you plan to return for another visit. Travelling across Rannoch Moor to arrive on our door step at Rannoch Station is a great way to see the moor and an option that we highly recommend. The car journey along Loch Tummel and... More

Who says you can't enjoy yourself in Britain during February? We arrived on the overnight sleeper from Euston and were given a warm welcome by our host, Scott who met us on the platform at a snowy Rannoch station. The full Scottish breakfast that followed was just one of many delicious meals we enjoyed at this hotel. Scott and Steph... More

Hi Susan R, It is great to read your review of your recent visit to Rannoch Moor. February is a great time to visit the Moor as the snow enhances the sense of wilderness and creates some fantastic scenery as you have captured in your photos. Travelling by train across the Moor is a fantastic experience whether it is on... More

We arrived on the overnight sleeper from Euston into a cliche - the snow covered landscape, the train disappearing into the early morning mistiness and the hotel just a few steps through the snow - wow! Scott (the co-owner) was on the platform to greet us and take us for breakfast, the first of many very fine meals we were... More

Arriving on the sleeper from London in time for breakfast is a great way to travel to Rannoch Moor. The journey on the West Highland Railway Line... More

Scott and Steph have been closed over the winter doing some renovations to the hotel. They opened last weekend and gave three of us as non residents not only a very warm welcome but a great meal too. Great wine and whisky from their newly designed bar. Comfy seating after our walk down to the loch - cosy - and... More

Hi Anne B, It was great to see you back at the Moor of Rannoch for the start of our 2014 season. As you say we have been busy over the winter making a few changes within the hotel. The biggest project was installing a new efficient heating and water system allowing us to run a central heating system in... More

We had a Valentine's meal at the Moor of Rannoch Hotel, and can truly say it was one of the best meals we've ever had. There were four choices of both starter and main course, with one vegetarian option in each, and all three courses were outstanding - and incredibly good value. Steph and Scott did an amazing job, not... More

Hi Catriona W, Thanks for taking the time to write our first review for the 2014 season. The winter has flown by and the Moor of Rannoch is back open again providing both accommodation and dinner. Over the winter we have completed a number of renovations including installing a new heating and water system. Our local heating engineer worked very... More

We first stayed only 1 night at Moor of Rannoch in June 2013 with intentions of returning for a longer stay in July 2013. What a truly superb experience. We finally managed to get a weekend booking in late September for a quiet night away.
