This was the 2nd Macdonald hotel we stayed in, just for 1 night-DBB, we wished we could have stayed longer but had to move on due to hotels being pre-booked. We had a lovely room with a beautiful view overlooking the loch,. It was a peaceful quiet hotel that afforded us an excellent nights sleep.Staff were welcoming, attentive and made... more

We came here for one of our 'night aways' this time for my birthday. The hotel is quite away off the beaten track, but a stunning drive through the Scottish countryside. On arrival we were told that there was no table booking for our evening meal available till 9 pm. This was a hard lesson learned and we now pre... more

Hotel in stunning location, and room had great view. Due to its location you have to eat in the hotel which is over priced. The food was good but the service was poor and seriously overpriced (£90 for 2 x 3 courses inc basic wine). Staff were clueless about menu, as were bar staff about basic drinks and glasses! The... more

We have just returned from a long weekend stay with our 2 year old son. The restaurant is very expensive and certainly not worth the prices they charge, it was £29.50 each for a main course and dessert which was nothing special, wish we had chosen fish and chips from room service that was only £11. My husband bought a... more

We were booked into a four night stay at Loch Rannoch and as with other reviews, the views from the hotel are stunning. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is a bit of a let down. The staff were friendly but you still have to carry your own luggage to your room. Wall paper around the hotel was torn, worn away or,... more

The hotel is situated on the picturesque Loch Rannoch which is about 20 miles from Pitlochery. Driving to it gives a real sense of getting into the wilds. We found our room to be a bit on the small side and the floorboards were very squeaky. However the view of the loch and hills made up for this. If we... more

We stayed here for one night and thought the location of the hotel was absolutely breathtaking. The staff were fairly friendly but not four star standard. The hotel was comfortable but in need of modernisation. The spa is dated and you have to go outside, in the cold if it's February!, to get to it. The hotel restaurant is nice... more

I was slightly apprehensive after reading a few of the most recent reviews, however, we were pleasantly surprised by our long weekend away. The drive to the hotel is scenic and the snow capped hills and beautiful scenery were a welcome sight. Upon arrival to the hotel and throughout the whole of our stay, the staff couldn't be more helpful.... more

Where to start...Many of the staff were poorly trained & struggled with even the most basic order, a dry white wine for example. The Australian barman in the leisure cntre was extremely rude. Left over room service debris left in corridors from arrival until next morning. Staff getting orders mixed up in dining room, staff in bar failing to bring... more
