We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Macdonald Loch Rannoch hotel. The hotel itself is clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and always attentive. The leisure facility is great and perfect after a long day adventuring the area (which is stunningly beautiful). The view of the loch from our room was breathtaking. The food was fresh and... More

Fantastic spacious accommodation, open plan living area on top floor with uninterrupted panoramic views over the loch. Accommodation well thought out with well kitted out kitchen with containing everything you could think off. Short walk to village and lots of activities a scenic ride away. Would recommend

The apartment was very spacious with lovely views over the loch. It was very well equipped with every requirement met. Also very clean and comfortable. We very much enjoyed our week and despite poor weather and managed to visit several places including House of Bruar, The Highland Chocolatier and Pitlochry. The local shop is very well stocked, especially with Rannoch... More

Had an absolutely great time in a lodge which slept 6 people with ease. Very impressed with the facilities in the lodge, especially the private sauna. During the day there are loads of walks/rambles to partake in both for the novice and experienced alike. A lot of places of visit nearby although make sure you time this right as some... More

Just back from a weekend in the Loch Rannoch Hotel, you could not get better views across the loch. The hotel itself is in need of a little TLC but that said roaring fires and comfy sofas to relax with a coffee or a drink, what else would you want from a relaxing break. The staff were all excellent, could... More

Recently returned from a visit to Loch Rannoch Highland Club, staying with family who are owners. It has been a couple of years since I was last here and this time we stayed in one of the newly refurbished lodges - all I can say is that they were pretty good before refurbishment but now they are fantastic! The views... More

We bought our apartment (16) in 1979 and have stayed there almost every year since. The apartment has a wonderful view out across the Loch towards Schiehallion (3547ft) which is famous for being used to weigh the earth in 1774. We have climbed it once and got an amazing view from the top. The timeshare is run by the owners committee... More

Once again we're back at one of the best resorts!! We were only here last November and have visited a number of times before! The lodges are equipped to the highest standard, with everything you could possibly need! Clean and extremely comfortable! We've stayed in the higher lodges, which are wonderful, but be aware that there are a number of... More

The apartment we had was nice enough (Pine Marten 2), a bit dated but clean enough. Lots to do in terms of walks to do during the day but nothing to do at night. Would be good if you could use the hotel facilities.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Loch Rannoch Highland Club is a Timeshare Holiday complex of 85 properties in the picturesque village of Kinloch Rannoch, in Perthshire, Scotland. Our apartments and Lodges can accommodate between 4 and 8 guests. The properties are available to rent, and a few are available for resale, at very competitive prices. The Highland Club is on the banks of Loch Rannoch, a beautiful loch surrounded by walks and scenic locations. The wild Rannoch Moor stretches to the west, and the Tay Forest Park lies along its southern short. The loch, and the Highland Club are presided over by the majestic Schiehallion, or Sidh Chailleann in Gaelic (Fairy Hill of the Caledonians). This Munro is one of the best known in Scotland, and offers breathtaking views and walks.Nestled on the shores of Loch Rannoch, the Loch Secluded and tranquil, as the early morning mists rise slowly from the Loch it is easy to surmise how JM Barrie was inspired to write Peter Pan during his visits to Loch Rannoch area. The imagination can envisage through the mists the bow wave from Hook's ship as it slowly moves towards its Anchorage. The clubs' set activities include; - "the clan night" where two of our tame and (usually) pacified Highlanders give an extremely interesting talk on local history, the clan system, highland dress, and weaponry. The club organised guided walks are set at a pace that everybody can enjoy. Why not spend an evening showing off your intellectual skills at the club quiz night? A water colour masterclass is also provided by the club with a guarantee that every participant will leave with a painting. Of course, no visit to Scotland would be complete without participating in a whisky tasting class. The clubs set activities are included in the price of your accommodation.Providing comfortable self catering accommodation in a breath-taking setting, with fabulous views over Loch Rannoch each unit is comprehensively fitted out with everything you could require making this your home from home in the Highlands. From Rannoch Station you can catch the train to Fort William and then carry on to Mallaig, either by ScotRail or by the world famous Jacobean steam railway following the renowned route used by this steam locomotive in the Harry Potter films.By road Pitlochry, Perth, Aberfeldy, Aviemore and Inverness are easily within day visit radius.Wi-Fi facilities are provided free on-site. ... more   less
