Having just spent two nights in a rubish hotel (galery trent bridge avoid) I came to the Haven in the vale, with the hotel in the sticks but on a main road very near to Nottjngham. I think that describes this hotel perfectly, the staff reception could not have been better, which contimued throughout our two night stay, extremely helpfull... More

We booked over night to go to a party in near by Orston. Met by friendly staff member who gave us a room with 4 poster bed number 19, which smelt fusty. We unpacked to then find the toilet flush was not working. She moved us to room 20, opposite which smelt even worse, & just " ordinary " bed which... More

When we arrived at 11pm it took a while to find the staff and get into our room, which was absolutely terrible, dirty sheets, mold every where and a poor level of cleanliness. Asked to move rooms and it didnt get much better. Everyone that we complain to blamed someone else and said they were just the bar manager. We... More

We stayed on this hotel on our honeymoon night. The hotel was Ok but not very clean our room had dirty cups no coffe tea or sugar or milk. Was not impressed sink taps moved every time you used them. Would not recommend it. Staff very good at ignoreing you in.the morning.

No reception staff and had to go to the bar for assistance. Keys could not be found-not a good start. Staff stated that the rooms had been paid for that morning by my credit card when I left the details weeks prior to the visit. This had never happened to me before when using this system, and I was not... More

Me and my family stayed here visiting family close by. When we got to reception the manager came straight out to check us in, he gave my dad a set of keys for two rooms and said he could go and look at the rooms and pick which one he liked, I asked for a room with a bath to... More

Acceptable, just. However, the food was very good and good value and the staff were very kind and helpful - they were badly let down by bad management. The management made promises but didn't keep them and were not very professional bordering on the rude. Because of management, the rooms were not ready even late in afternoon. Lets hope they... More

If, like us you need a hotel for somewhere to stay for a night whilst visiting friends or relatives in the area then this place serves a purpose. If however you are looking for a nice relaxing break in comfortable surroundings then forget it. This hotel can only be described as grubby, both the rooms and the lounge restaurant could... More

Went here today and although the staff are really nice and friendly they are really let down by what comes out of the kitchen. The food is really poor, my wife's lasagne was burnt and my steak( I'm still not sure if it was steak!) was so overdone I didn't know if I should eat it or resole my shoes... More

Having read some poor reviews, we were a bit nervous about staying here. However, it looks as though improvements have definitely been made. This not a "quirky", "boutique" or destination hotel. It's quite cheap (we paid £65 a night for a double room with breakfast), so don't expect mints on your pillow, fresh flowers in your room or warm croissants... More
