Met up with friends for dinner and overnight stay. Great country house hotel with a lot of history. Big room, big bathroom and big, big comfy bed. Very clean and tidy. Food was very good but dinning room service was not good. All the staff seem to have free range to visit all tables and consequently there was a comedy... More

Stayed here for 1 night with my wife, had a lovely big superior room with a bed big enough for a party, very clean and lots of little extras, like biscuits, coffee maker, drinks etc. The house was great, the only criticism I have is with the food. I had the burger, it was ok, but not worth the money.... More

This is a beautiful country house hotel, with lovely gardens. The room was very comfy with a huge, comfortable bed. Drinks in front of a roaring log fire, what could be better on a cold evening. Our meal in the Bistro was superb, very tasty. The staff were wonderful, attentive, but not too much so. Didn't feel rushed at all.... More

We went for one night and found the hotel to be very comfortable. The room was big and well appointed, and the food was good. The disappointment came when I found that the best price guarantee I got when booking online turned out to be far from that. The hotel were offering DB&B for two for £119. They charged me... More

We stayed for 2 nights this valentines weekend in a feature room, it was a nice room with plenty of space and charm, it had a lovely comfy big bed. Everything that was needed was there. We visited Whitby but spent many hours sat in front of the big log fire with drink in hand perfect. The food was again... More

I only spent one night at this beautiful hotel. We went for valentines weekend and stayed in a feature double which was really lovely. The attention to detail was perfect and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Just one small criticism the food in the bistro could have been better, I had a steak costing £25 and it was... More

Stayed here for the first time for a weekend break at the beginning of February. The weather was kind with a mild weekend following a period of freezing temperatures . Arriving at the hotel I was impressed by the imposing ivy clad building at the end of a driveway, this foliage turns a vivid red apparently later. Check in was... More
