Stayed for two nights. Very clean, high standard of bedroom/bathrooms. The staff could not have been more friendly. The food was excellent english cusine, the lamb and steak beautifully cooked. Drinks and breakfast very good if you are not in any hurry. The reception staff (and others) were excellent making the stay relaxing and enjoyable. I see the reason for... More

Enjoyed another great overnight stay at Gisborough Hall. We continue to return frequently as the overall experience is consistently excellent. From the friendly and helpful service staff, to the dinner and breakfast service, everything is perfectly done, making every visit a real pleasure, and totally relaxing. We particularly like the dinner service, where orders are taken in the comfort of... More

Stayed over for on evening. Room was fine. It was a classic room as requested which was cute but a little dated rather than classically old fashioned. Not many areas to site and have a drink inside. Hotel bar and seating area were full so we had to sit in our room. Food was ok on the evening however we... More

Dear zooooo Thank you for posting your review, I am truly sorry that the hotel and team did not meet expectations. I am delighted to advise that in November the ground floor is undergoing a partial refurbishment, there will then be seating for 56 in the hall and drawing room, from the existing 40. I stayed for 2 nights on a business trip with 20 colleagues. The hotel is pleasant - the rooms are comfortable if a little tired. Most staff are very good but there seems to be a paranoia around guests not paying their bills. When I arrived my colleague who was to pay on the company card was busy and I... More

Dear Mike M Thank you for posting your comments, I am truly sorry that you were so inconvenienced when my receptionist called your room and asked for payment for your liquor bill; indeed she relayed to me the full conversation that you had with her the next morning and is really quite upset. We have conducted an investigation however have... More

Gisborough Hall is a pleasure to visit. From driving up towards this beautiful place (and how splendid it looks at night) is truley awesome. The interior is elegantly laid out and is as spectacular as the exterior. Staff were very polite and attentive when we visited and our meal was superb! Drinks reasonably priced and this place has lots to... More

Dear Warhol40 Thank you for reviewing your recent visit to Gisborough Hall. I am not exactly sure where you dined? However very pleased that it was superb. The bedrooms on the first floor of the Hall are magnificent and lend themselves to a special celebration, beautifully refurbished overlooking the Cleveland Hills. I do hope that you will return and spend... More

We stayed there for 3 nights as part of a family wedding, which they organised very well. We did not see the bill but the happy couple seemed to enjoy themselves, and the terrace and lawn makes an excellent location for photographs. We did not have dinner there as the prices are London prices, but the breakfast was excellent and... More

Stayed at Gisborough Hall for 2 nights 13th-15th September 2014. Booked an online deal which was B&B and included an afternoon cream tea too. Arrived mid-afternoon and was promptly checked in and directed to my room which was in the old part of the hotel (room 129 Miss Ursula's Room) was a lovely quiet room, nicely decorated and very clean.... We stayed for the weekend in a standard double room, we asked if there were any rooms to upgrade to but unfortunately they were all gone, the room was ok but last time we stayed in a feature room which was much nicer. The hotel is a stately home in a magnificent setting. There is a good walk into Guisborough on a footpath just along the main road, this goes past the ruined abbey. The hotel is also handy for the ascent of Roseberry Topping, a very impressive hill although only about 1000 feet high. We stayed one night in room 116 in... More
