Thank you for making us very welcome this weekend. We were staying at the hotel to celebrate with our son and now daughter in laws wedding. From start to finish we were made to feel very welcome. David at reception made sure our room was available early so we could get ready for the arrival of the beautiful bride. Our... More

After a misty, foggy day on the Coast to Coast, arriving at the Wainstones Hotel was a bright spot! David, the manager, picked me up at Clay Bank Top as the road to Great Broughton is not walker friendly. (He also accommodated another hiker not staying at Wainstones in order to call her a taxi...another example of the great service... More

Mist and rain over the Yorkshire moors. A hard day's walking. Tired feet. Do you want a miserable welcome from the hotel you are staying at ? No and that is exactly what we didn't get. All the staff we met including the kind lady who picked us up from Clay Bank (free of charge) were smiling, happy to see... More

We stayed here on our coast 2 coast walk. We were picked up from Clay Bank top by David (no charge) The rooms were en suite and comfortable. The evening meal was excellent and the hotel is friendly and full of charm. We had a good breakfast and was taken back to Clay Bank ready to start our walk again... More

We found this Hotel in the lovely village of Great Broughton near Stokesley in North Yorkshire,on the way back from visiting our daughter in Hartlepool. The Hotel is set in lovely surroundings, and the restaurant has a good atmosphere with an unusual ceiling to the lounge! The food was very good with a large selection in the menu! To the north... My usual hotel choices were full this week, so I ventured further afield to great Broughton. First impressions of the Wainstones are all good, attractive setting, old world charm, friendly greetings etc. Plus Great Broughton itself is an attractive village with a couple of other places to eat it seems. The room I was allocated (8) was pleasant enough for... More

The staff were very obliging, allowing us to check in early in order to head off for a wedding ceremony. There is also a night porter on duty who let us back into the hotel in the early hours of the morning, which is a nice touch. The room was spacious and comfortable, with fresh fruit which was a really... More

This accommodation had been booked for us on our Coast to Coast walk and is only possible because the hotel staff offer a collect and deliver service for guests off the path two miles away. The hotel is spacious, the rooms are also generous in size, the dining room offers a good selection of food for all tastes and the... More

Wainstones offer pick up and drop off at clay top bank, and staff all around are a credit to the hotel. The room was comfortable 3 star hotel, large room and bathroom. The food in the restaurant was about the best I ate in 2 weeks, and comes highly recommended. Breakfast was well served and presented but not the best... More
