This is a really nice old inn with tonnes of character. We had a very pleasant dinner in the evening. All in all a nice place to stay in a picturesque village. The only slight negative was the quality of the breakfast which didn't quite live up to expectations but could quite easily be improved. I would recommend and would... More

We had a fantastic two day stay here in the elham valley, we were travelling round england and wales from our home in Glasgow and booked this place for two nights as it looked as though it was full of charecter and history and it certainly hit the mark with us. Elham itself is a lovely little village with close... More

This is a wonderful olde world hotel & restaurant. The place is so full of character. The staff are warm & friendly, the rooms are nice & clean with exposed beams everywhere, the food is excellent & the wines & beer are are very good. This is tucked away in the Elham valley but not too far from either Folkestone or... More

This is a lovely place to stay if you are wandering about in Kent. We stayed here with elderly parents and had a wonderful time. Good meals, clean rooms, more English character than we could have imagined. Between the meals at the Fireside and the "other" place across the street - we had more wonderful dinners than we ever expected... More

We booked American friends into this hotel, they were thoroughly enchanted with both the ambiance of the hotel and the village itself. Nothing was too much bother for the hosts, the continental breakfast was excellent and we were all able to eat together in the restaurant of an evening, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

What an utterly beautiful village and lovely hotel to stay in. Abbots' host, John, was genial without being overbearing and very attentive, as were his staff. The room (newly converted loft) was clean and roomy (with low ceilings at side but plenty of space in the middle main part of room). Only had bath, no shower though. Comfy large bed.... More

This is a particularly attractive building with hardly a right angled wall or level floor in sight! You need to be aware of little steps waiting to catch you out all over the hotel! We were given room 'Top Right' which is a room under the eaves at the top of the hotel - obviously newly converted and with a... More

Lots of character & history, staff very friendly and helpful. Food good, generous, but cooked extras not cheap. Rooms well kept. Has free wi-fi for guests. Restaurant on ground level very popular in daytime and doubles as breakfast room. 15C character maintained well.

We had an overnight stay at the Abbot's Fireside. The hotel is absolutely delightful and full of character. The service was excellent and staff genuinely helpful and friendly. The host, John, was extremely welcoming and made the stay feel very relaxed. We didn't have our evening meal in the restaurant but tried another local pub, so are unable to comment... More
