Do not have any chairs, when I a called to cancel a booking because of this the proprietor said to me that's fine as children are not encouraged here,he then went on to say ' they don't have wallets or buy a round and they clutter up the place' . Am so angry. My call wasn't made in angst I... More

We stumbled upon Elham about 10 years ago, travelling back at the end of our holidays from Exmoor to the ferry at Dover. Great inn with friendly atmosphere, nice rooms and safe parking space. Elham (pronounced "Eel-um") is a nice little village with a few pubs and its own micro-climate. We visit the Rose & Crown approx. every two years.... More

My husband and here came here for a 'date night'. We have been meaning to try it for ages. We were the only diners (thur eve) but there were some friendly regulars chatting at the bar. The atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. Our food was really good and tasted home cooked. The landlord was friendly and we could find no... More

We decided to stay the night at the Rose & Crown prior to using Eurotunnel - best decision ever. We had rooms 3 & 4 and they were really spacious, well appointed with very large bathrooms. The evening meal was great. Sons had Hunter chicken and in their words 'Awesome', my wife and I had steak & kidney pie with... More

We do not normally do Bed & Breakfast so we booked this one with more than a little trepidation; also some reports have mentioned that the male staff (with long hair) was surly and rude, and at best unhelpful. These reports are wrong we found the check in staff to be cheerful, helpful and actually quite amusing; we were then... More

The location is excellent for the channel tunnel. The evening meal is okay. The rooms were clean and spacious with lots of character, our problem was the person who seemed to be the landlord was not very helpful, next time we would stay over the road where the character of the pub is much better and the landlord is very... Stayed for one night as it was close to the Channel tunnel, but would have liked to have stayed longer ! Set in a historic and pretty village, the accommodation and service was first class. We enjoyed an excellent evening meal, a very good night's sleep and a delicious freshly cooked English breakfast. The room was spacious, clean and very... More

We stayed for one night with 6 people, it was a real pleasure - great location, just a few minutes drive to motorway, but away from all trafficnoise in a rural village, nice pub (no disturbs!), excellent rooms, great breakfast :-)) The menu looked promising, but the traditional pub food could have been a bit spicier for our taste. We... More

A group of friends stayed here when attending a wedding in nearby Barham and it was perfect! Really laid back and accommodating staff who were really flexible and worked around our needs in terms of arrival and check out. Every member of staff was friendly, the rooms were GREAT: spotlessly clean, fairtrade tea and coffee, and VERY comfortable beds. The... More

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely Inn with rich history and situated in the middle of a rural and charming village. Well situated to discover the charming Kentish country side as well as Canterbury. The freshly cooked meals and local ales as well as the freshly cooked English breakfast were highly appreciated by us. Rooms are spacious, well... More
