Have been here twice already this year for a spa day with friends. We were treated so well, we decided to have an overnight stay- good choice! Slight hiccup initially, as original booking was somehow lost, but thanks to Mhari (not sure how to spell your name!) it was sorted out.Paulina the front of house manager was aware of the... More

We have just had a lovely overnight stay at Dalhousie Castle. We were given a gift experience voucher for this hotel. We didn't get a room in the actual hotel but in the lodge which was within the grounds but a modern building. Also the rooms were decorated in a modern style and could have been any generic hotel, not... More

I visited Dalhousie Castle with my family for a weekend. When we arrived, the first thing I thought was, WOW, it is stunning! We were greeted by a lovely girl at reception and then taken to our room with help from another gentleman on reception. We had two rooms in the little country house on the bottom floor. They were... After reviewing the Dalhousie Castle website, I was so excited at the prospect of staying there. Sadly, my visit on July 18 left me very disappointed. First the good: The castle is lovely and has an impressive history. Dinner in The Dungeon was nice, and enhanced by our friendly, attentive waiter Pierre. Now for the not-so-good, which began as soon... More

We were declined due to a weeding party. Overbooking is the worst thing one hotel can do. No respect to the gests at all. The castle is ugly and hunted. Don't book this hotel. There are several better castles in Scotland. If you want to know Edinburg, stay in the city center.

We booked very last minute due to our own plans changing and to begin with everything was great – young girl on reception was very friendly and efficient. We were given room 41 (which was a bit of a maze to find but nice once we got there). Room was lovely – although few cobwebs were very visible above the... More

At the top of the large turret a 4 poster bed was the centre piece of a magnificent room . Views on 3 sides and a long walk to the loo was just part of the experience . We booked dinner in the dungeon which is a wonderful use of space . The staff although many were very young and... More

I recently spent a night here and thoroughly enjoyed it. I stayed in one of the more modern rooms (it was a floor below the reception area). My room was very quiet and tucked away. The curtains were also heavy and did a great job of blocking out the light. This is helpful since it stays light until almost 11... More

My daughter and I totally enjoyed the unique experience of staying at a castle. The decor throughout was lovely, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the grounds were beautiful. We stayed in The Thistle Room, which was cozy and well-appointed. The exposed stone walls were cool, and the view from our huge window was so pretty. We splurged on... More

I had afternoon tea here in February. The setting was wonderful and afternoon tea was served in the orangery. Despite it being cold outside it was nice and warm inside. Service was fine, staff were pleasant. Food was lovely. The sandwiches were fresh and served with salad and crisps. The cakes were served on 3 tiers. Assorted scones were on... More
