This hotel is amazing. The service is great, the scenery is gorgeous and it's just far enough out of Edinburgh to feel remote. We had a wonderful room and loved the library bar. Breakfast was included and was delicious. If you're looking for an intimate venue for a wedding or a romantic break just outside the city this is perfect.

My wife and I stayed here our first night in Scotland during a 2-week tour around Ireland and the Scottish Highlands. We stayed in one castle hotel in Ireland and one in Scotland. While this was more of a "traditional" castle, I was not impressed. While the staff were very friendly, the food was excellent, and the grounds were nice... More

we only spent one night there touring Scotland and I am glad it was only that. Building is very impressive but there is apart from the spa nothing to do, nowhere to go. On arrival we were given room 21 - do avoid . It stuck of dump, shower was dripping and tea/coffee making facilities were shut in the wardrobe.... More

I booked 2 rooms here for a treat for my mother. She has always wanted to stay in a castle in Scotland. Her face when we arrived was great to see, what a beautiful castle, location is perfect. The grounds are immaculate, the staff were all very pleasant, especially Nick who showed us to our rooms, he was extremely helpful... More

My husband and I got married at Dalhousie last week with 35 guests. We did all preparations from our home in the US, not actually seeing the castle until the day before. Everything was perfect, it was everything we ever dreamed! Andrew the pipe was amazing, and having the owl fly in the wedding ring was so awesome. I have... More

My husband brought me to Dalhousie last week for my birthday and it was great. We tend to go on spa breaks a lot so this was a spa break with a difference! We stayed in the Mary Queen of Scots suite which was really nice. Overall You could tell that the place was slightly tatty (which gave it some... More

We had our wedding at Dalhousie Castle in March 2014. The events co-ordinators were great, promised our special day would be perfect. How wrong they were. We booked exclusive use of the castle and handled the room bookings ourselves, advising the hotel via email and phone calls (of which there were many) of exactly who would be in which room,... More

My new hubby and I stayed at Dalhousie Castle as the last night of our honeymoon in Scotland. We splurged, and booked the Simundus de Ramseia suite, which was one of (if not the very) priciest suites, because it looked so authentic and romantic! The castle itself was neat, the grounds were not that well maintained, but no big deal.... More

We spent one night at the castle - I had requested a room with stone walls as I wanted the total castle experience. The suite was amazing - a bit worn, but that is what I expected. The old well was in the floor of our lower level room and it truly felt like the real deal. We had our... More
