The staff here are super friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. A special mention to one of the breakfast waiters (sorry didn't get his name) who was more than happy to bring me a hot water with lemon and a green tea, even though I said either would be fine! You don't get this 'can do' attitude... More

My wife and I were in from the States visiting friends on the Isle of Sheppey/Kent. The Abbey was a great place to stay as it was close to friends, the room was clean and well-cared for. The folks at Reception were always pleasant and helpful. While smallish, the room served its purpose and provided what we needed: a comfortable... More

Saturday night visiting Family, cost £68 for 2 including breakfast the following morning. Generally very quiet, no problem parking and a decent room to boot. Very often has in-hotel entertainment as well. Thoroughly recommended- our fourth time staying there. Service with a smile :-) . During hot weather it can get a little stuffy.

I think that this hotel is good value for money. My room was clean and fresh with a lovely comfy bed. The breakfast was cooked fresh. Service was fast, efficient & friendly. The evening meal was excellent and again, really good value. There were obviously locals enjoying the relaxed bar and good food which is always a positive thing. The... More

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Abbey. Once again we enjoyed our stay. The service is wonderful and all staff are polite and welcoming. They are refurbishing the rooms and the one we stayed in(10) was lovely. We have always found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable and with the revamp, new bedding... More

Stayed for 2 nights in April. The hotel reception closes at about 2300 hrs so in order to get out of hours access you have to call the duty manager. The rooms are laid out around a grassed quadrangle and are a combination of smoking and non-smoking rooms. The décor is quite dated and in need of modernisation. Rooms were... More

The Abbey is a lovely hotel and great value for money. The staff are all polite and welcoming and the rooms are far better than I thought they would be...toiletries are provided which is an added bonus. The breakfast was delicious, a great start to the day! My only disappointment was the noise from the people in the room next... More

Me and my family recently visited The Abbey Hotel and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were spacious and clean, beds were comfy and piping hot water (I love a hot bath). We stayed here for 4 nights and experience everything the hotel had to offer. We visited the restaurant (the food and service was fantastic), got involved in the Thursday... More

Had a large party for dinner for a special occasion and everyone of us said how impressed we were with the Abbey. Very very good value for money, good selection of food to suit everyone's requirements and plenty of food, no scrimping on portion size. Staff friendly and flexible when more people turned up than was expected. This was the... More
