me and my partner stayed the night here recently and enjoyed our stay. The room was good value for £55 pounds including breakfast. We found this deal on booking.com. the room was very nice but the décor was dated and dark. The only downfall was the breakfast. We didn't expect much for the price but the standard was shocking. Ideally I wanted to stay in Rochdale itself but couldn't find anything for the evening in question. So I stayed at the Birch instead. I would describe it as a business person's hotel. Having said that, it was perfectly fine for my one night stay in March 2014. The room was a typical hotel room. There was nothing unique about... More

We only stayed here because premier inn was booked up. The exterior looks tired and Honestly, don't take any notice of the pictures, the rooms don't look anything like them at all!!! We paid £90 for a room for me, my husband and my 14 year old daughter, they charged us £15 for a bed as the room only had... More

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in a double room overlooking the fountain at the front. Room large but decor appeared a bit faded ( a couple of holes noted in headboard), but good internet access and plenty of space. Staff very friendly and helpful at check in and check out. Breakfast freshly cooked and nice spread of fruit... More

Nice building, easy parking, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, super staff, nice breakfast in pleasant surroundings, all the things we hope for. The only criticism we could make was that while a small fortune had obviously been spent on the building in the past, maintenance hadn't kept up. The cracks and creases needed a little work to return it to its... More

I travel extensively on business and first impressions are very important to me. First impressions are not good pulling up to the main entrance from a very busy main road. The car park is extremely generous, well lit at night (and Free!). Initial thoughts were that the outside of The Birch Hotel looks a bit like a 1980's Residential Nursing/Care... More

Dear Richard, Thank you for your review. The hotel was once a mill owner’s home and, as it is a slightly rural location, it has externally retained some of the characteristics which adds to the country feel. I am pleased to hear your welcome was warm and Magdalena will be happy to hear this. I am sorry to hear your... More

A very nice hotel. I booked with Lisa.. My granddaughter and I with our 2 yorkies were met with a warm and friendly smile. The room was clean and cosy, the beds were soft and the linen and bathroom was excellent. The full English was the full monty, it set us up for the day at east Lancashire railways 1940s... More

Dear Glen, Thank you for your lovely review. We are constantly striving to go that extra mile to ensure our guests are happy, and it doesn’t end when our guests leave. It was our pleasure to send Mollie’s teddy back to her. He turned into somewhat of a hotel mascot whilst he was waiting to go home! Our chef will... More

I stayed here with my Husband for the night, the room was dirty, and did not smell fresh. The window of the room was open when we got into the room, i later realised this was because it was broken and could not close. The room was dark and in need of better lighting. In the morning there was only... More

Dear Julia, Thank you for your review. Firstly, may I apologise that you didn’t enjoy your stay.
