Like a previous reviewer my husband and I have just returned from a two-day break at Dumbleton Hall, staying in Room 14. The room was indeed very small - half the size of our bedroom at home - but I do not agree that the room was rundown and in need of attention. The bathroom (which was half the size... More

I have been going to Dumbleton for over 40 years and it just gets better and better. The rooms have been tastefully refurbished and are very well equipped. The food quality is excellent with a good choice of wines. The only drawback, a minor one, was they forgot to order my newspaper. Otherwise faultless. We will be back!

We have just returned from a two night stay on a Social Living deal and cannot fault this lovely hotel. A long winding drive takes you up to the extremely impressive building and grounds. Friendly welcome (for us and our dog!), large, warm, comfortable room with views over the gardens and further countryside. We had coffee by the roaring log... More

I organised a lunch and overnight stay for a group of over 20 at this lovely characterful hotel. The staff and service were first rate and clearly well versed in looking after large parties. The price was very reasonable and i had nothing but positive feedback from all my guests. Indeed several will stay there again.

I agree with much that has been written about a lovely building and grounds which are beautiful. Having read several reports I was looking forward to our visit. We were guests of a wedding and as my wife was not feeling well we decided to go early to relax in the room before the evening party. We looked forward to... More

What life might have been like 2 centuries ago.! The harsh realities of present day life seemed to disappear as soon as we entered the estate, past the becalmed sheep in the grounds, and then to be confronted by the Magnificent building which is Dumbleton Hall. The high standards of service which I received on booking was continued throughout our stay... More

This review is a bit of a mixed bag as we can't grumble too much as we took advantage of a Travelzoo deal. Saying that I would not recommend this hotel if you're paying full price and you're a 'foodie.' Our deal was 2 nights stay with a glass of prosecco and tapas and a cream tea on arrival. As... More

Gloriously isolated hotel. Old Cotswold stone manor house with an interesting history. Impressive entrance into a welcoming reception area with a log fire. Immediate plus point! The staff are always really pleasant and upbeat, never a miserable face. Our room was a little in the small side with the idiosyncrancies of an old building... We felt like anyone on the... More
