We celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary by having an afternoon cream tea for our family and friends at the hotel. The setting and food were excellent, and all the staff were very helpful and attentive. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and the hotel contributed greatly to making our anniversary a very special day.

Very impressed. Lovely meal - very helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. We stayed the night and even though there was a wedding party, our room was lovely and quiet with a really comfortable bed. Impressive full English breakfast plus selection of fruit juices, fresh fruit and cereal. I would highly recommend. John

From what we saw, Bristol is not over supplied with good accommodation. Luckily we found Alveston House Hotel. The biggest surprise is that it is only a 3* simply due to things like no 24 hr room service. The room was spacious, and very well decorated, although a little noisy being on the street side. Excellent pleasant service from Martin... More

Very helpful staff, good atmosphere at all times, clean, smart Hotel. Food and Restaurant service very good, perhaps a little more choice on menu/variety would be good. Would probably upgrade room if visited again for more room

Best cream tea beautifully served in a sunny garden, quality linen table cloth and napkins, real clotted cream, home made scones and jam, wide choice of lovely fresh sandwiches, highly recommended. Gill.

My husband and I have just returned from The Alveston House Hotel having been treated to afternoon tea as a present. As a coeliac, I didn't expect much, but was very pleasantly surprised: the gluten-free sandwiches (smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese and egg mayo) were moist and delicious; my husband ate the latter as I'm not keen on egg,... I chose this hotel through the internet because I was looking for a pet friendly hotel in the south Gloucestershire area. I lived in the area some 50 years ago and wanted to explore my old haunts with my large sheepdog. I found all the staff to be extremely helpful and pleasant, the room very comfortable and the food delicious.

I have been staying here on a regular basis for work since January this year. The staff are very helpful and soon got to know me which I am sure would not happen in a larger chain hotel. Rooms are comfortable albeit the single rooms are a bit small Food is excellent with a variety of options. The market menu... More

This is a real traditionally run hotel, I really can't fault the service, the staff are attentive without being over bearing. The food was excellent, evening meal, tasty and good value, breakfast cooked to order, what a refreshing change from the heat lamp fair, served by numerous hotels these days. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and china cups,... More

Recently attended a wedding here. Took over the hotel for the weekend. The staff were excellent particularly Lisa who seemed to be there keeping a watchful eye on things so that things ran really smoothly. Could not fault their organisation as the dining room and conference rooms took on various different roles. The food was excellent as again was the... More
