This is our fourth or fifth time of staying at the Alveston House Hotel. We are drawn back because of the warm welcome we receive, the cosiness of the hotel. The excellent food and we can be assured that Chef Ben and his kitchen staff will cater for our dietary needs always. It doesn't matter how bad the weather is... More

Have just had a superb afternoon tea at Alveston House Hotel. Everything was fresh and very appetising. We have had tea at the Ritz and Savoy in London and Reid's Palace on Madeira. Certainly equals them all. Would definitely recommend for a real treat.

A real lack of decent places to eat out in South Glos - have driven past the Alveston House Hotel many times but never been in. Booked a table for a family birthday meal and was very pleased we did. Friendly greeting by attentive staff, nice restaurant, lovely food at a reasonable price and good local bottled beers. The only... More

I stayed 2 nights in January as I was on business in the area and couldn't have been more impressed. Staff were efficient, friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Breakfast choice was vast and the room service food was of an exceptional quality. My room was huge and spotless clean with a stunning en-suite. I would thoroughly recommend this... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, but dined in the 'Carriages' restaurant for afternoon tea. I booked at reasonably short notice for my wife's birthday, I was apprehensive as our young children (3 and 1) were going to be with us, and I perceived the hotel to be fussy and not family friendly - I couldn't have been more wrong.... Can only reiterate Talisman029 review. We spent one night celebrating New Year with friends from opposite ends of the country. We all agreed! Fantastic! we will be there next year all being well. Staff were 5 star.

Our Christmas Day lunch at the Alveston House Hotel was delicious. I have a wheat and dairy intolerance and I have to say that the chef made a special effort in accomodating this for me, even making my own gravy which was to die for! The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent.

Spent three nights at this hotel and loved everything about it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was superb, and we had a fabulous New Year's Eve dinner and dance. If we had one criticism it would be that we prefer a separate shower rather than one over the bath with a shower curtain, but this is... More

We received warm, friendly and excellent service; just what we needed for our B&B base whilst visiting family over the Christmas period. Excellent reading lights with eco bulbs are positioned either side of the bed in the room we had.

As a party of 4 we had a truly excellent experience for our Xmas dinner. The table layout in the restaurant was such that each table had more than adequate space and, even for Xmas Day, it appeared that no extra tables had been brought in. The attentiveness and cheerfullness of the staff was first class and we were asked... More
