The Ken Bridge hotel has a really lovely terrace overlooking the river. We enjoyed 2 nights at this hotel and the hosts were really friendly and helpful. Our room was rather small and the bed was not the best - but there was a good en suite. Food was generally good and the service great.

Dave the owner is a nice bloke and makes you feel relaxed and welcome. The whole hotel is very clean, the room was very well presented, crisp white bed linen and the bathroom gleamed and smelt lovely. The surroundings are beautiful, right on the river. It is a peaceful and laid back place. The food was delicious and home made,... More

On our way to the Grey Mares Tail (which we ended up not seeing due to torrential rain) we needed to stop off for food. Driving through Castle Douglas there was nothing which looked enticing or what we were after - which was a nice pub with a fair choice on the lunch menu and ideally options for children so... More

Heading to the Cairnryan ferry for a trip to Belfast - I usually hammer it along the A75 to arrive exhausted and stressed out if my head for the queue. Today I decided to turn over a new leaf and book an overnight at The Ken Bridge Hotel - why on earth haven't I done this before? Great welcome, super... More

The meal was excellent as before, the room was clean but the shower was very disappointing no more than a dribble and the towels were only hand sized, even when I asked for bath towels I still only got hand towels. The beds were like concrete and we all ended up with back ache in the morning having had little... More

The shower works perfectly well especially when the isolation switch is turned on! There were 2 sets of hand and bath towels already on a wall rack in the en-suite so there was really no need for you to come down and snap "Do you not provide towels in this hotel" at the barman. The number of towels were checked... More

Myself and a colleague stayed at the Kenbridge on the 10th June of this year, we had a great stay to say the least. The Hotel is set in the most amazing surroundings and on the day we stayed the weather was fantastic. We ate our lovely home cooked meal outside on the terrace overlooking the river, then after a... I came across this hotel while driving and decided to stop and have a Meal there, the food was absolutely lovely and extremely well presented, I was very impressed. A few years later I decided to stay here overnight as my usual B&B had closed. I must admit I did have quite high expectations after knowing what the food was... More

2 steps into the en-suite not 3 & a shower in a cupboard? I think you mean a shower cubicle. A notice beside the shower explains to turn the isolation switch on before use. The en-suite lock is a mortice with the key on the room key fob. The chair is provided for sitting on but well done for thinking... More

We were made so welcome we visited this hotel 5 or 6 times in our weeks holiday. We ate both at lunchtime in the bar and one evening in the restaurant. Chicken & haggis with peppercorn sauce, fish and lasagne all went down well. we also had a particularly fine apple sponge with cider and caramel sauce and honeycomb ice... More

There was three of us and we all ordered different meals but we all really enjoyed the stunning cuisine on offer. The staff were all really friendly and the f took the time to... More
