A lovely hotel in a magical location! Our son had recommended it to us on many occasions and we finally got round to visiting last week. I like to try and keep my reviews realistic and honest and I simply can't fault anything about the Ken Bridge. The location is wonderful, right on the Loch side, the hotel is well maintained... More

This hotel in in a fantastic location just a five minute drive to many lovely walks in the Forest of Galloway. The breakfast is great, and big! We tried dinner one evening also, which was nice, the fire and views of the river are picturesque, but I was a little disappointed with the veggie options. You definitely need a car... More

Just had a late booking overnight stay here and is was perfect for us, great food, very comfortable spotlessly clean room overlooking the river. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the bar was cosy with a mix of locals which added to a most enjoyable break. Did not see the night stars but than means we will have to... More

Had good overnight stay, booked last minute and decided on the Ken bridge hotel because of the nearby wildlife. We had a warm welcome from Dave who was very helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. Breakfast the next morning was in my opinion the best cooked breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. Would recommend... More

I had to stay here for a night on business and I wouldn't normally choose a small country hotel for a business stay. However I was pleasantly surprised with this small hotel. The rooms were obviously recently redecorated and the bathroom was well equipped and a generous size. My room (a double) had a great view over the river and... More

Just back from a lovely overnight stay at the Ken bridge hotel. Lovely setting, very snug & cosy, helpful friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, flexible and child friendly. Food was excellent and it is a long time since we have had such a tempting range of options to chose from. By far the best hotel in the Castle Douglas area.

Five of us visited the Ken Bridge tonight for a meal. Just great. Really interesting menu, with lots of local produce. A lot of meat and game dishes, but also four vegetarian choices. Smart, but relaxed restaurant, with smart, friendly staff. It was a wild night outside weather-wise, but we were cosy and comfortable in this lovely hotel. We went... More

We camped here for two nights and it was great. The location is very striking, at the edge of the bridge on the river, with very little of anything else around. The site is only designed for a handful of campers and when we were there, there were only two others. The campsite is in the garden of the pub... More

We stayed here for two nights in October 2014. The rooms are functional and very clean. Normal array of toiletries, tea, coffee & biscuits. Breakfast was very good, the Scottish breakfast particularly - well cooked, good variety and lots if it; really sets you up for the day! Evening meals in the restaurant were excellent - again very well cooked... More
