Having chosen quite the wrong hotel to stay in Paignton, why oh why did we not "discover" Churston Court until it was too late? Steeped in 12th century history, we "dropped in" by chance and begged a table for an early evening meal. It was absolutely delightful; the lady who greeted us asked chef if we could stay and the... This is amazing and a must if you love history , the outside is beautiful has the most amazing tree with the biggest white flowers I've ever seen. Then inside is fab full of old portraits and armour it's so cosy and I can't wait to go back in the winter with the log fires going and the rooms are... More

I have stayed at Churston about 6 times This time I was but in a very small room with no view and a very old looking bathroom Evening Food was good as per normal and staff OK. Breakfast staff a little slow and breakfast not as good as previous stays

Stayed for two nights, lovely clean and comfortable room. All the staff were very friendly. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good, so was the cooked breakfast. Will definitely go back and we can't wait.

We are local to the area and have eaten a very tasty lunch today with our friends from Suffolk What a shock to see such poor house keeping in the grounds outside Cigarette butts, weeds and a general lack of care all topped off with dead lilies in dirty water on top of a stand in reception Management !! What are... More

We stayed at Churston Court on the 14th July. We had a lovely room- it was spotless and the bed super comfortable. We did not eat at the hotel in the evening but the breakfast was fab! Piping hot and fresh. It was lovely to stay in a quirky place that wasn't run down. Really pleased. Would certainly recommend it.

I really enjoyed my 3 night stay here. We stayed in the Thomas a Becket room which was of a very good size, very clean and had a wonderfully comfortable bed. Bathroom was very good too with the choice of a roll top freestanding bath or shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovey and there was a really... More

I had expected better but was disappointed. The hotel and rooms are desperately in need of renovation. It is of course old, great, but it was dirty, dark, dingy and the low power light bulbs and old very dark paint in the rooms do not help. The dining room lighting made it difficult to see what the food was. The... More

My friend and I stayed for the weekend at this truly charming oldie-world inn near Brixham. Perfectly situated to explore this pretty part of Devon, but a secluded and relaxed atmosphere. The hotel dates back to the Doomsday book and is really lovely inside, with quiet 'snug' areas, huge fireplaces, beams galore and a very welcoming staff - hello Hannah... More

I have been here just to eat when I've been in Devon and have also stayed here several times, once being for my honeymoon. I always take the time to make a visit to Churston when in Devon. On staying here, we were in the Francis Drake room which had a stunning 4-poster bed and an amazing standalone bath with... More
