We've been regularly going to stay at the Churston Court now for the last couple of years. It's in a beautiful rural location within easy reach of the coastal path. It takes about half an hour to walk into Brixham. The hotel itself is very cozy and there's nothing nicer than to warm up by the open fire in the... more

We booked this hotel for our wedding and, although the rooms were great etc... the manager was incredibly rude and obnoxious. He ruined my wedding day by closing the bar at midnight because he was tired! Then, 3 days after I had left the hotel, I was charged an extra £160 to my credit card without my consent... Not even... more

We always value customer’s comments and suggestions. As we are always aiming to improve standards and aspects of the hotel. We understand that reviews are a natural progression to internet booking sites and interest sites. However I feel that the issues raised in this review to be unjust and also extremely inaccurate. Therefore it is important to respond to this...

My partner and I decided to book a last minute get a way. We wanted to stay local and came across Churston Court Inn. After reading through some of the previous reviews we were a little dubious however, everyone has their own opinions. Thank goodness we booked it, we had a fantastic stay. The staff were warm and friendly, even... more

Having seen the mixed reviews, our expectations were low and we were pleasantly surprised overall. Not perfect by any means but I don't think they set out to be perfect. It's a lovely old property that needs money being spent on it which I think they're doing a bit at a time. It is dimly lit but that's part of... more

As soon as you enter the hotel, it's incredibly dark and difficult to see, i know the place is old etc., but the dark red paint and 20w light bulbs didn't help, the girl behind the bar said she felt like a bat, she couldn't see what money she was taking. The hotel seemed to attract a 'Benidorm type' clientele,... more

We came accross Churston Court when out walking. The approach to the Hotel was very impresive and after stopping for a drink we decided to return for our honeymoon. This turned out to be a big mistake. Now we did not stay in one of the superior rooms but nothinig prepared us for what faced us when entering the room,... more

Although Churston Court looks great with its olde world charm, and theatrical decor, it was overall disappointing. The main areas of concern were cleanliness and attention to getting the basics right. We booked a 'superior' room (James 1st) for a two night weekend stay at £90 per night. The room had a great 4 poster bed but was very, very... more

This place was a last minute escape for a couple of nights - we booked on laterooms.com and had read reviews on here....a little nervous, but for the price, worth the risk...all I can say is... WHAT A FANTASTIC PLACE. It is steeped in the most brilliant histroy, was so exciting to walk around - paintings, armour, tapestry, huge candle... more

Booked dinner, bed and breakfast for 1 night as celebration and thought olde worlde hotel with four poster bed would be fun. Bathroom was newly refurbished with roller top bath, but difficult to bath in due to taps being in middle of bath and attached to wall. Nowhere to put soap or bath gel apart from floor. Lighting poor, 1... more

We went to this lovely Inn for my birthday for two nights. As soon as we got there we learnt that we were upgraded to a lovely four poster bedroom, as there was one empty. The rooms are wonderful, and the bathroom was out of this world. The bed was so big and so comfortable, and decor in keeping. The... more
