We have stayed twice at this hotel, cannot fault the staff, room, breakfast all fantastic. The lady who takes the breakfast order is very attentive and polite. We are hoping to look and stay later on in the year and will request to have room 3 :). My husband and I always feel so relaxed after a good nights sleep... More

It was very hot when we stayed at the hotel, but we had a ceiling fan which kept the room cool. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. It was quiet, except when the steam trains were leaving from the station next door. We ate at the restaurant, which was very good. The staff were friendly and attentive. Churston... More

Visited the Brixham area on a short break, the food in the weary ploughman was very good and the service friendly and helpful, we dined there 2 nights running and we weren't disappointed, however, the place itself has no character or atmosphere, although well decorated , it is far too modern and soulless for an old building called the weary... We tried this place after being recommended while we were staying just up the road. I must say it was a nice surprise. We went in on a weds evening for a meal and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A good menu and there own Pizzas are amazing ( and i don't even like Pizzas ) with toppings such as slow... More

The Weary Ploughman is a really good place to stay just a couple of minutes from Brixham on the English Riviera.. we have stayed here a couple of times now and have never been disappointed with the room or service we receive. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable and the bar/restaurant serves a great selection of foods and drinks.... More

We first visited the Weary Ploughman while on holiday about four years ago. We knew it was one of few restaurants in the area, though there are plenty of pubs serving more basic food. This time, we paid two visits and were accompanied by another couple. Their immediate reaction was that it didn't look much from the outside, needed a... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your informative review following your visit to our restaurant last month. I'm afraid the initial view of The Weary Ploughman from the road is of the side elevation of the building. It was built in the 1860s as a Railway Hotel for the neighbouring Churston Station - which was first... More

Yet another short stay at The Weary Ploughman this time staying with friends. Slightly more expensive than most rooms in Brixham but as they say 'you get what you pay for'. Beautifully furnished room topped off with a ceiling fan, comfortable bed and all you need for a perfect break. Breakfast all you could ask for, certainly sets you up... More

Thank you very much once again for writing a glowing review following your stay with us earlier this month. We are very pleased to know you had a great time. Since your previous stay with us we've had lovely new Hypnos beds in all the bedrooms. Maybe, when you come again, we will have finished a new extension to give... More

Invited to an evening meal here by family. It's been years since I visited the Beery Ploughman, and really didn't know what to expect, having heard mixed reports locally. It's an odd mix....certainly not the pub you would go to for session drinking, much more a pub aiming to be a restaurant. The welcome was lovely, indeed the service was... More

Thank you very much for writing your review after visiting our restaurant at The Weary Ploughman, and for awarding us a '4'. It must have been at least 7 years since you visited what you called the "Beery" Ploughman as it was a real 'drinkers' pub back then and not the best kept by any means! In fact the place... More

Ate here on 2 evenings in May. The service was excellent and the food reasonably priced, well presented and very good. The first evening we only wanted a starter and were treated just as well as if we had been having a full meal. On the second evening there appeared to a pair of "professional complainers" (not liking the wine... More
