Our table was booked for 8pm we arrived 745pm we stood in a tiny bar waiting to be seated .Our order was taken at 830pm still no table we were seated at 920pm . After all that the food was poor , it is the worst place I have ever been to really spoiled my night .

I am a student based in Liverpool and came to Crook on a professional practice placement over the last two months. I came to the foresters expecting a room and a bed; I left with a family. Everything from the service to the rooms, to the food was absolutely excellent everyday without fail. Jim, Denise and Lesley were always a... More

I took a job in Crook early 2012. As i was staying with my brother and he could only accommodate one I needed to find a local B&B for week ends when my wife came from Norfolk to visit. We found Jim and Denise by chance. Our first experience was superb and we returned on six further occasions. Why? The... More

My cycling friend and I called in on spec having cycled up to Stanley Crook from Durham City on the cycling path that passes nearby to the premises. Although shut as a pub/restaurant the owner could not have been more welcoming in providing us with coffee and biscuits on what was a very cold day. We sat in the dining... More

We stayed here for the night and were pleasantly surprised. It is beautifully kept, lovely and clean and smart. We had room with beautiful views,it was gorgeous and spacious with a lovely big bath and shower. and a big inviting bed. We were instantly made welcome, ( we had just finished work and were not looking our best) and made... More

After hearing many good reports on the Foresters we decided we'd see what it was like for ourselves. What we came across was one of the most disorganised restaurants I've ever come across. There are plenty of staff, who are all very friendly but unfortunately seem to have no idea what they are doing. There is no cohesion between the... More

This place is a must visit !!! Spotlessly clean couldn't find anything to fault it . Shame we only stayed 2 nights. We fully intend to return if only to sample more of the fab food on the extensive menu. Be warned though don't go nibbling on the complementary biscuits in room before hand. Food portions are huge!! Hosts Denise... More
