An old pub with motel type accommodation. This in a lovely countryside setting a short distance from the A14. This suited our purposes perfectly. The accommodation was comfortable enough, lacking only efficient ventilation to remove the after shower steam from the bathroom. We stayed at the Golden Ball Hotel hoping to impress some visitors from abroad; the staff, hotel and associated Pub really delivered. In a country setting, modern and clean, and a very impressive pub made for a good combination. However, the real highlight was the hospitality showed by the staff. Nothing negative to say.

Before arrival I had expected the nine rooms at the Golden Ball to be integral with the old inn building.
