From the moment you walk in, you feel like history is embracing you. Despite being one of the oldest buildings in England, the Olde Bell is kept in quite good condition. The pub is a great place to sit with friends and taste a good beer while you have a good chat. The restaurant offers a varied menu, which makes... More

Beautiful old inn, in a quaint village (Hurley) but in need of some attention. Some obvious modern touches aren't consistent throughout and it shows. Room 1 was fabulous I have to say, wooden floors, rickety, with some modern touches, with an extremely comfortable bed and a balcony (bit run down) overlooking the garden. Bathroom included his and hers sinks but... More

We got to see two rooms in this hotel as I asked to move from the first one (21) due to it practically being in the car park! Our new room (23) was much quieter, at the back of the hotel. Both could do with a refurb and the carpet is not very comfortable for bare feet. There was no... More

This is a lovely place; beautiful village location, great interior design, good food and good setting. Service was only ok, but once again noise let it down! Having read previous views I asked for a "quiet room". When we arrived we were given keys to a room by the road which wasn't at all quiet when cars went by. The... More

Breakfast was very good. Very nice breakfast bar. Fantastic eggs. The room in the main room was very funky. It was like staying in a school dorm room. Weird furniture, uneven creaky floors, Not particularly comfortable or clean.

Dear Clive C, Thank you for your review and comments, I am sorry that you did not find the bedrooms comfortable, nor that you were particularly impressed with the cleaning standard. We have a new company on board with regards to cleaning and I hope to see a general improvement very soon. I am surprised that you did not enjoy... More

Arrive at The Olde Bell this afternoon in what can only be described as a "monsoon" Although the restaurant was busy we received excellent service, in the bar and also when making enquiries about future bookings in the restaurant. Well done Marion and Norman, you manage a brilliant team. Keep up the good work. Hurley need you!

This was our second stay at the Olde Bell after a gap of a few years. The room in the Brick Barn was spacious with an enormous bed but otherwise sparsely furnished. Water pressure in the shower was, frankly, pathetic. We had been looking forward to dinner and the restaurant menu looked good. As we had a dog with us... More

Dear Lilybeachlovers, Many thanks for your review and feedback. I take on board your comments regarding the menu and being able to chose in places that allow you to relax with your dog or pets. It should not really be an issue and we will rectify this for future guests. We have fixed the water pressure issue, which to be... More

Some of the staff were charming and helpful, especially the manager on duty Marian. He providing excellent customers service without being at all formal. My wife and I chose the Olde Bell to have our wedding reception in July this year. My advice to anyone considering using the Olde Bell for their wedding is AVOID at all costs. We were sold by the beautiful old house and the private garden that went with the Malt House - both of which did look beautiful on... More

Dear Mr Fitzpatrick, It is a real shame to see your review following your wedding on July 11th. Although I personally was not employed by the company at that time, as I said on the telephone with you, I feel saddened by your comments. Having spoken to the team here and the individuals who dealt with the booking and to... More

Just had a cristan service at the Olde Bell. The buildings were amazing and the village it's quite picturesque. The service was amazing and we all felt that we were well taken care of. To have staff that on their day off actually do the extra mile to help it's priceless. A big thank you to all staff and management... More
