We recently stayed here for a night away from the City and really enjoyed it. Its a quiet, quirky Country House with no more than six bedrooms which leads it to seem fairly quiet. We were the only ones dining but the food was lovely, well presented and really tasty. Expensive enough but happy to pay for the quality. Just... More

What a beautiful house full of gorgeous antiques and quirky bits and pieces. We stayed in the Durn Suite which was huge and very Downton Abbey like! Sandra and John were welcoming and friendly. We went antiquing in Cullen and when we got back John let us have some bubble wrap and found some boxes for us.The bed is very... More

Well what can I say . . . just spent a lovely evening/night at Durn House celebrating a 70th Birthday event and it was perfect in every way. The house is set in its own grounds in a lovely location. We were warmly greeted on arrival by our host John, who was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are... More

Durn house hotel is set back on the very edge of Portsoy in rolling countryside. There is a warm welcome and refreshments on arrival for all guests plus a brief history of the house and surrounding area. The house itself is something special and has been beautifully renovated and decorated...with large and comfortable public rooms. The bedroom that we stayed in... More

My husband and I have just returned from a two day stay at Durn House, our treat after organising our daughter's wedding in June. On arrival, we were warmly greeted by both our hosts, John and Sandra, and offered a very welcome cup of tea! The house is very impressive, tastefully decorated and crammed full of antique furniture and interesting... More

Durn House certainly exceeded our expectations! We stayed here for a combined business trip and golfing stay and could not have found anywhere better in this area of Scotland. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, the decor is styllsh and the service impeccable! As for food, it is without a doubt up to Rosette level - we have not... More

Stunning house, wonderful hospitality and excellent food. Only negative!! Don't expect to get the room you book. Can double book!! We were extremely disappointed having booked 10 months in advance we then found that someone else had our rooms.

Durn House has been spectacularly restored and furnished by its owners, and provides a large house filled with character, charm and comfort, combined with a homely and friendly welcome. The room we stayed in was enormous, with a bathroom to match, and was finished with high quality furnishings and linens of 5 star standard. However the undiscovered feature of Durn... More

My brother-in-law booked the whole house for friends and family to stay in over his wedding weekend. We stayed 3 nights and the house was beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. The owners could not have been more accommodating to our needs. We all enjoyed a delicious meal on the Friday night and the food was outstanding. On the... More

Durn House is an elegant Georgian Mansion House in its own grounds offering luxury accommodation in large rooms with luxury en-suites or private bathrooms at sensible rates.
