I recently had afternoon tea with my sister which was very pleasant. I am extremely fond of Durn House and it's wonderful elegance and the homely feel it has. However, there are two improvements which I think could be taken into account. The sandwiches with the afternoon tea were sparse and customers could be offered a little more. However, we... More

Attended a recent ladies day as part of a group. Staff were very welcoming and beauty treatments were lovely. Only disappointment was the afternoon tea, whilst it was beautifully served and tasty, the sandwiches were extremely dainty and it would've been nice to have been offered more.

Went for one night + afternoon tea - Itison deal. Afternoon tea a real treat, initial mix up regarding gluten free option soon rectified. Our first experience at afternoon tea, Durn House has set the bar high. Lovely selection of goodies. We also had our evening meal. Superb. Room , Sutherland really nice, the photos on website didn't do it... More

My husband took me to Durn House to celebrate my 40th Birthday, we stayed in the Durn Suite and had dinner on the Saturday night, the whole experience from beginning to end was perfect, Eon the General Manager could not have been kinder, in fact all the staff were professional and polite, service was faultless. The Durn Suite is beautifully... More

We came up here for a very good friends' wedding and were absolutely blown away by the experience. Firstly, we had a dinner on the first night. As the whole house had been booked out for the wedding party, we had the dining room all to ourselves which was great as we could chat away as much as we liked.... More

We stayed in Durn House for one night and it was a wonderful experience! The interior design makes you feel like stepping into a real 19th century landhouse. The food was lovely (it was the new cook's first dinner, chapeau!), the rooms comfortable, the staff very friendly, flexible and attentive and the area gorgeous.

I celebrated a 'special' birthday here, at this time last year with good friends. I could not have chosen a better venue for the occasion. Everything was perfect, the food was gorgeous, the service excellent, and the rooms beautifully decorated for Christmas. I have been back on several occasions and the experience only gets better! Well Done!

We stayed 2 nights in Durn room (the manager had upgraded us from one of the smaller rooms) which was absolutely stunning. The whole house was beautifully decorated and felt like living inside a national trust property! Food was lovely (we had dinner, breakfasts and posh afternoon tea). It was a wonderfully relaxing place to stay, we will definitely be... More

This is not really a hotel but more a large house. Small and friendly. Arrived to find the doors locked and had to knock to gain entry, after that everything was fine. We were offered a tea/coffee while we waited to be shown to our rooms but we declined as we had recently had some. Good big rooms (Ferguson and... More
