This Hotel is open under new management after being shut for just under a year. It's looking totally different inside, it's been brought right into the 21st Century. Enjoyed a lovely evening meal with my kids in relaxing surroundings. High standard of food and service. Would definitely recommend to others and can't wait to come back. Thanks and keep up... More

My wife and I had not intended to stop in Portsoy, but we did. We had not intended to go for a meal, but we did. We had not heard of the Boyne Hotel before, but now we have found it, we would recommend it to anybody. A very friendly welcome; excellent locally caught fish; perfect presentation and local people... More

Apologies for the delay in responding but we have been trying to take ownership of this trip advisor page. Many thanks for the comments. There have been a lot of people put in a lot of effort to get the place up and running and it is very satisfying to see that those efforts are now being rewarded. I think... More

Decided on the spur of the moment to try lunch now the hotel is reopened It was lovely. We had a great choice of Sunday specials and from the regular menu. Other guests seemed very happy with their meals too Our meat and cheese sharing platter followed by chocolate mousse with cinder candy, and Portsoy ice cream, was the perfect... More

There isn't much accommodation on this part of the coast so we ended up here. Can't think of anything positive to say about our experience here. Overpriced, shabby room and a poor breakfast in a depressing dining room. Couldn't wait to leave.

Had a birthday treat booked at the hotel. Myself and my hubby were being given a rare child-free night out, and were being treated to the seafood platter. Found out the day before that rather than a standard seafood platter, the Boyne's involved rich sauces including lobster thermador. Rich creamy sauces make me very ill, so rather than miss out... Staff Friendly, Rooms clean and standard. We booked a family room for 4, but were initially given a double and single bed! Quickly given a single room at no charge as family room not available. A most disappointing overcooked dehydrated breakfast. Sadly not many hotels available to choose from when we needed to book in this area and if we... More

We have just spent a week in portsoy ,a party of eight .we arrived on the monday aware that the area is quite. On our first night we were welcomed by a very proffessional young woman who explained that the restraunt was only open to residents ,which we totally accepted. However the next night we asked for dinner, to be told they... All the staff were very friendly, the roooms where a little smaller than expected but in a fishing village as beautiful as Portsoy and a bar as friendly as in the reception area, your hardly going to spend any time inside your room anyway. As a vegetarian i was able to eat a good selection of dishes on the mains... More

The owners, staff and locals were all very friendly, the entertainment good (both in terms of the band and those in the bar!) and the food excellent, plentiful and value for money. As one other person has indicated there is no reception other than in the main bar of the hotel itself which is in earshot of all those standing... More
