First you see the castle far away from the highway and the closer you drive, more magical it becomes. Finding the guests entrance of the fortress in the village of Pavone isn't easy, even with a GPS! You have to go behind the castle, leave your car in an open parking, climb at least 100 steep stairs and ring the... More

My wife and I stayed the one night. This old castle has been completely renovated and refurbished to an excellent high standard. You feel as if you have been transported back to the time of the knights of old. It is lavishly furnished. We were in room 456 with lovely views. The bathroom had the full range of toiletries which... More

We booked this hotel as we were looking for something quiet on our return back from our holiday. Upon booking, we asked for a quiet room however upon arrival, we were told that a Wedding was happening on the evening and that the music would stop at midnight. At the time, as explained, I wished I would have been informed... More

We certainly felt it... even though I suspect much of the castle has been rebuilt. It still evokes a middle ages feeling, and we spent plenty of time just sitting in the castle square, reading and soaking in the vibes. Highly recommended!

It was 2 am. We had finally made it through the Great St. Bernard Tunnel. We had passed Aosta, but now had a seriously crying baby and needed a place to sleep. The first place we called was full up. They suggested Catello di Pavone. They had space, but the rate they quoted seemed high (165 Euros). Given the circumstances... More

Stayed here in 2 rooms with my family (5 in total). A very unique place and we really enjoyed it. Staff were very helpful in getting bags to the room and we ate in the restaurant on the night we stayed. The meal was the best we had on our 7 week holiday through Europe. Would thoroughly recommend it ...

The hotel is kind of cool but its very popular as it is next to the highway and most of the castle cannot be visited as it is private. If you re looking for a quiet castle experience somewhere in the countryside, don't go there but if you re just passing by anyway its a nice place to stop. The... More

This is an old castle that was converted into a hotel. I attended a wedding in this place and slept in one of the room - nicely decorated, though my room was quite small. The price was ok, the hotel doesn't have much to offer in terms of attractions, but just the felling of sleeping in an ancient hotel was... More

If you like medieval ambience a place like Castello di Pavone would certainly be a good place to visit. However, our recent trip to this hotel was not what we expected and was rather disappointing. We certainly did see the castle; from the outside, but not really the inside of it... When I booked my weekend I was thrilled at... More

If you like medieval ambience try out Castello di Pavone. It is an amazingly beautiful place with great rooms and the view on Alps. Clean rooms and modern bathrooms. Great staff that does not always speak good English. We also tried out their restaurant. Highly recommended.
