Stayed as part of a luxury bike tour. Unique experience to stay here. Great to explore the areas within the castle and have a drink in the pretty courtyard. Food was good. Limited breakfast selection but adequate. Rooms will vary as some couples on our tour had large rooms in the true castle with private courtyard and some had standard... More

This castle has it all. Location (less then an hour from Milan), views(the Alps), the castle itself, the rooms, the food make for a great experience. Easy to reach by car with good parking.Beautifully kept grounds made exploring fun.

Passing through this area? (Or within a 100ks or so) Then you must stay at the Castello. Beautifully restored rooms with walls covered in period artwork along with the creaky portrait hallways make for a stay of royal proportions. The rooms do have all the mod cons including the spa jet shower which is well received after 100ks on the... More

Lovely and charming place. Loved the room and the restaurant (nice breakfast and great dinner). Service a bit too formal at times. The car park can be a bit far from the hotel, especially when events are hosted at the hotel (no guaranteed spot for hotel guests next to the main door).

This is a really lovely and special castle hotel. One-of-a-kind. We had a beautiful suite (and if you stay here, it really is worth the splurge on a suite) with great views all around. Front desk staff is very helpful-- arranged a wine tasting for us and had good suggestions all around.

My husband & I were in Europe for business & as Canada is not known for it's castles we decided to stay in Castello di Pavone when having meetings in nearby Calaglia. A little tricky to find the entrance (look at the signs not your GPS!) & some help from a couple of locals & we were at a castle... More

The establishment is a castle modernly refurbished to extend all modern amenities in a middle ages decor and ambience, with curved ceilings, "ancestors" paintings n each wall and armor suits standing in many corners of the corridors. Very friendly staff and excellent dinner hall and servings

A unique experience and a good place for an overnight stay or make a base to explore the region. It is a castle but it is not cold and draughty, quite the opposite in fact. Our room was extremely comfortable and well appointed, the bathroom was fantastic. The restaurant was good although the service was slightly eccentric (a bit faulty... More

This is - seriously - a 1,000+ year old castle. As a South African, staying in anything that old is unheard of. So it's almost surreal. The feeling of ancient lives and lifestyles is easily imagined, and this makes it a very special place to be. Bedrooms are large and comfy, and bathrooms very adequate. BUT the experience is not... My cousin had her wedding at the Castello di Pavone, and indeed that is an amazing location for such an event! The view is really beautiful, the castle at night is breath taking! If you travel by train, you can go to Ivrea, and take a taxi to the castle, it's about 13 euros, which is quite reasonable. I was... More
