Bradford CHA Rambling Club always have a Christmas ramble in December finishing at a location which will provide us with a Christmas Dinner. This can sometimes cause problems as we like to change the venue from year to year and not many pub / restaurants are able to cope with 40 odd ramblers descending on them after a day out... More

We went here with a group for a geology weekend. The 'reception' is non existent and you have to rely on leaders from other groups to point you in the right direction. Our room was very comfortable with a large, comfy bed. The bathroom was utilitarian. The food is great considering it is mass catered. Breakfast service is quick and... More

Booked this lovely Quirky hotel for a few days break. Staff were very welcoming & advised us that meals were served at large tables comprising 6 - 10.people. This turned out to be social & interesting experience. Upon arrival we realised the hotel catered mostly for walkers on package holidays (HF) who had organised entertainment in the evening. They were... More

We arrived and found that the pictures on the web site don't do it justice. It's a fantastic old building in a stunning part of the world. The rooms are good with plenty of room, a little tired looking but nothing to complain about. Why 4 out of 5? Breakfast! Not the food it was great, the problem is you... More

We have just returned from a wedding at Newfield Hall, I can honestly say this was an amazing weekend. The venue is beautiful, the food was out of this world and the staff were second to non. Location was easy to find with a sat nav, we stayed in room 15 and the room was very spacious, the only one... More

We stayed here for a week's walking with HF holidays. It was an ideal location, being relatively close to all the major walks we did during the week. The food was plentiful and well cooked and the packed lunches were excellent. The staff were very helpful. Being an old property, there are benefits and draw-backs. On the plus side, our... More

I have just returned from a week staying at Newfield Hall. I attended a holiday on Gilbert and Sullivan, travelling to the festival in Harrogate on four nights. apart from these occasions I stayed in and around the house, painting and reading. A perfect escape from tourists racing around. the food was excellent and service first class. Like the house... More

A great hotel, absolutely beautiful and the room was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had booked the hotel without knowing about the walking holidays they offer, as such I was caught up with the new arrivals for an organised tour. After speaking to the other guests I will definitely explore HF Holidays. I had read... More

You will need a google map to find this place. It's a lovely mansion with an indoor pool, comfortable rooms and public spaces. It's a bit unusual , you choose in advance your dinner and sit down at 7.15 with the other guests on shared round tables. Suits a social outgoing person, and eating in groups can be nice if... More
