Malham YHA is in the perfect location for exploring this beautiful area of the Dales or conquering the Three Peaks ... but it's a shame the hostel isn't up to the same standard. In many ways, it's a lovely place, it's in a fabulous setting, it's been refurbished and they've done a good job, but there are a few problems... More

We stayed three nights in a family room during half term. The weather was mixed but there is plenty to do outside and inside nearby. The hostel was clean and tide. Very homely and the staff were welcoming. This is a great way to meet people, especially if you have children who need entertaining.

What a place - no hot water, cramped & uncomfortable beds and a 'bonsai' breakfast in the morning. I wouldn't have minded so much if it was cheap but it isn't ! A lack of parking spaces made this a stay over to forget.

I decided to have a couple of days walking in The Dales so booked a night at this youth hostel. With membership discount, I got a bed for £12. I arrived in the rain about 3pm to find that the reception was closed until 5pm, even though the website said that it was open all day, so I just sat... More

It's been around 15yrs since I last stayed in a youth hostel. So much so that at 31yrs old I had to ask around to see if was too old to be considered "youth". Needn't have worried though. On arrival at around noon I was able to check in immediately and ventured into my room in the Fold (a modern... More

I have only just come back from a short 4days stay at YHA Malham with college and I thought it was brilliant. Theres pleanty to do around the hostel, for example caving and climbing. The staff are friendly and willing to help you when you need it. The rooms were spotless and of a good size. I stayed in a... More

This place has had a total re-vamp since my last visit and it is now excellent. I stayed in the building round the side which is very modern and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the food is great. They even had a bar which was an added bonus. The location is second to none, and I would look... More

This has been by far our best experience at a YHA. The hostel has had a refurbishment and is really modern and comfortable. We had a family room with a double bed, en suite and lovely views. The kitchen was very well equipped and the lounge had a TV and there were board games for the kids if they wanted... More
