We can't comment on the accommodation but we did eat here one evening and it was dismal. The restaurant lacked atmosphere, was mostly empty and we were not made particularly welcome. The steak Bearnaise was quite tasty and cooked to our liking but the Hennepot which is the local speciality of cold meats in gelatine was not enjoyed!

We stayed here for 2 nights as a base for a weekend tour of the Ypres battlefields and cemeteries. A comfortable hotel with a restaurant on the ground floor. There is no lift and some steep stairs up to the second floor. The room we had (6) was large and comfortable with two twin beds and a single bed, a... More

Nothing fancy just good value local cuisine. (Just how we like it). Reasonable menu choice and friendly service. Right on the market square near Talbot House. We did not stay in the hotel we just ate in the place.

First trip to Belgium in a long time. We stayed two nights but unfortunately the hotel restaurant and bar was closed on both nights. Breakfast was included however in room price. The room cost 95 Euros for B & B per night. This seems expensive to me when compared to an Ibis in France which is about 58 Euros without... More

went over to pops, with a bunch of fire service from warwickshire for the rememberence service, the hotel was very nice, we were in the annex down the side road opposite an irish pub, but it was quiet at night, very clean and great service, will be going again, the people of poperinge are very friendly

This hotel is located right on the square in Poperinge and walking distance to the train station. The rooms are fairly basic, but comfortable. There is a restaurant downstairs from the rooms and breakfast is available, but it is an extra charge. We chose to get breakfast elsewhere. There's no elevator in the hotel and our room was on the... Every year we turn up with around 25 teenagers and every year we have been very well looked after. The volume of food has never disappointed, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the beer is lovely. Never stayed in the hotel but will be going back again in the near future to eat there hopefully.

Have never stayed, but we've had a number of lunches there. Good service, friendly staff who speak English, and Poperinge is famous for its beer. They do a special omelet which is out of this world, but it's a very comprehensive menu on offer. Without doubt we will be back.

A beautiful and friendly area, which is complimented with the great service we received. Our disaster happened in Belgium, where our car was towed away and we were stranded. Phoned to let the hotel know and they were very understanding (seeing as we were going to be very late booking in). The manager phoned us an hour later, checking on... More

I've been staying at the Belfort in Poperinge for 12 years now. It's a nice town in the centre of the Belgium hop growing region so ideal for beer buffs. Ieper (Ypres) and the WWI sites are all close and the town has its own WWI connections with Talbot house. The hotel is right on the square so perfect central... More
