What an amazing place! What incredible vision for this piece of land was shared by the couple who built it! We will be eternally grateful to them for making the effort to make this place so uniquely harmonious with the land. The artsy attention to detail in the construction, the decoration, appointments of the rooms, and the nature trails is... More

I stayed at these property in the middle of rainy season, yes, it rained and it was cold but I swear I have the warmest memories. The view you get from your window can make you forget any troubles you have on your mind, everywhere you look is green and I mean that thick forest you see in post cards.... More

This was a brilliant place to stay to start out holiday in Costa Rica. The room was very spacious with a large bathroom and spa bath. Our terrace had amazing views over the surrounding countryside. We saw the quetzals, and a large variety of other exotic birds. The waterfalls in the nearby river are well worth a visit, either on... More

I don't know where to start, my husband and I and sister along with BIL stayed here at beginning of our trip for two nights. Getting here was an adventure -planes, taxi and then public bus but eventually arrived and was immediately in awe of this place! It is just walls of glass (main buildings) and roofs are "green". We... More

We stayed for three nights in January 2015. We wanted to see quetzals again and we did so, guided by Carlos on an early morning tour. About 50 other visitors were also at the location scrambling to get the best views. We also did an excellent morning walk with Carlos in the Savegre Lodge reserve, seeing a wide variety of... More

We stayed at Dantica for 3 nights at the end of a tour of Costa Rica. It was a perfect end to a magical trip. The accommodation is all in cabins up in the forest which are reached along a paved path. Ours entailed a walk of about 400 metres from reception which at an altitude of 8000 feet above... More

The lodge served as a good base to see the quetzals and waterfalls in the lower part of the valley. There is a high probability of seeing the quetzals, so if you are interested in birds this is worth the trip. The elevation of the lodge is approx. 2600 m, so bring warm clothes for the morning and evenings. There... More

This hotel is AMAZING. The staff and owners are AMAZING! The experience is AMAZING!!! I went here with my almost-3-year-old daughter and we had an unbelievable time!! We stayed for 3 nights in December 2014 and it was magical!! I would recommend staying here without any hesitation. It was an incredible escape from "the city". We have been living just... More

Overall, this was a great place to stay and I would book Dantica again if I were to return to this part of Costa Rica. The views from cabin #1 (2-bedroom suite) are just as you see on the website – beautiful view down the valley toward the Pacific. Lovely view through the window wall or from the nice-sized covered... The Good: you feel like you're over, under, and in the clouds. The restaurant is quite good. It's just down the road from Miriam's, a "soda"(Costa Rican local restaurant) with wonderful "platos tipicos" and haven for variety of woodpeckers and hummingbirds. The Bad: the temperatures outside of duvet were 55-59 in the mornings. Rooms with gaps in the floor and... More
