This fantastic hotel sits in the mountains of San Gerardo De Dota. We went to see Quetzal birds and loved the entire experience. Andre and his wife Marianne do a spectacular job managing the hotel. They went out of their way for us when we returned soaked by a rain storm after a hike to the waterfalls. Our villa was... More

I can't say enough about this lovely, stylish and 6-star hospitality lodge/hotel. It's so much more than a lodge. The enchanting grounds, hospitable staff, culinary delights, stunning views, birding paradise, posh design details and extensive art gallery make it so much more than a lodge. We fell in love with Dantica from the moment we arrived. The Master Suite with... More

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in a standard room which is a lovely place. The view.... OMG... you have to see the perfect view. It is amazing. My boyfriend loved the fireplace which works with ethanol. There is a hot tub that allows you enjoy a relaxing shower. The restaurant offers you a delicious food and a... More

The top aspect you need to acknowledge about the hotel is the wonderful hospitality from the staff, especially from the on site Manager; magnificent attention! The whole concept of the hotel, which is located in the beautiful San Gerardo area, makes you want to forget about the rest of the world and enjoy total relaxation. You will really feel comfortable... More

Dantica is hard to review for a number of reasons. I have stayed in 2 cloud forests in Costa Rica and our first visit was to Hidden Canopy in Monteverde. Their price points are similar but entirely different experiences in service and hospitality. Not that Dantica was bad, it just didn't compare. We stayed in #1, so we didn't have... More

This was a very cool place. It is way up in the mountains and the temperature difference was amazing. Views, relaxation and various tours. The staff is small which makes it a very intimate setting as they are helping with dinner and often eating while you are. Since there are not a lot of rooms, the dining area isn't busy... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Dantica for a number of reasons. The views from several points around the property (including the master suite) are breathtaking. The staff were very willing, just remember you're on Tico time, and that things don't happen immediately. The food was a highlight, special thanks to Jose the chef for such a gracious response to... We stayed for one night (March 13, 2015). We were in Bungalow #1 which is near the reception area. From there one has the spectacular view down the valley that is featured on the hotel's website. We were blessed with perfect weather while we were there. We took a walk around the property and saw the other bungalows but don't... More

We wanted to experience the cloud forest environment and ejoyed the trails down to the river....very atmospheric. We walked down to the waterfall looking for the quetzal bird, thought we heard it but didn`t see it. We decided against the tour costing $45 and were lucky enought to meet a local man who led us to a place where the... More

An excellent first stay for us in Costa Rica. We chose not to drive the 3hr from Alajuela to Dantica. The roads were narrow and windy but in good shape. We used Costaricadriver.net who provided a safe and informative driver in a modern vehicle for the two of us for the journey - around $120 each way. Dantica is high... More
