I've lived in Costa Rica (San Jose) for almost a year now and keep coming back to this spot when I need to clear my head. High up in the cloud forrest San Gerardo is a quaint town nestled in a valley. Whether you want to or not you're going to relax while staying here. The grounds are beautiful, flowers... More

Great little weekend trip from San Jose, and a great alternative to enjoy the cloud forest away from other overwhelming alternatives in Costa Rica. Their lounger makes for an enjoyable common room. Service is outstanding.

Nestled in picturesque valley high in the beautiful mountains surrounded by colourful, cultivated gardens, loaded with kolibri's. Cabins are not detached. When it is possible the room next to you is not occupied. In high season, this will not be possible. The cabin was clean but not luxurious, which wasn't a problem, The food was excellent, especially their farmed trout... More

I stayed for 1 night with my family. It is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. The rooms are small but very comfortable and clean. The food is good and with a good price. We woke up at 5 am to see quetzales and it was a great experience. We went fishing for "truchas" near the hotel and... More

Trogon Logde is a beautiful and amazing place near "Cerro de la muerte" for bird watching, relaxing and hiking through the cloud forest. We stayed for two nights and made the Quetzal tour. Greivin was a well qualified guide and we were happy to find the Quetzal (male and female) around the nest. In our large, clean and cozy rooms... More

The place is in an amazing property next to a beautiful river. The rooms were pretty nice and the heater system was the best since the night was a bit cold and we slept very comfortable and warm. Dinner delicious and breakfast delicious since we had several options including an omelette were we chose all ingredients. It was really good!... More

Nestled in picturesque valley high in the beautiful mountains surrounded by colourful, cultivated gardens. Cabins are semi detached and squeaking floor boards transmit noise from on to the other. The cabin was clean but not luxurious, which wasn't a problem, but was let down by small things such as missing light bulbs and intermittent hot water in the shower. The... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Trogon Lodge. Beautiful setting and bird watcher's paradise. Our guide Greivin was fantastic. The food at the on-site restaurant was delicious. The nights are chilly in the cloud forest but we had gas heaters in our room to keep us cozy. The 7 km. dirt road into the lodge was a bit... More

What a wonderful retreat. I live in Costa Rica and have visited many places. This little mountain lodge is absolutely beautiful! They plant flowers and tress on the property to attract birds. So many hummingbirds at the place it is unbelievable. The guide on the birding trip was very knowledgeable and knew exactly where to find the Quetzals. Totally relaxing... More
