our party has just returned from an overnight stay at Mahons. From arrival to departure is was superb. Booking couldn't have been easy, we had 4 rooms booked and within 5 minutes of arrival we were shown to our rooms. All the room were large and spotless with large bathroom/ensuite. We were there for my sisters birthday and the staff... More

If you are looking for a minimalist hotel with trendy wine bar and all mod cons then this isn't the place for you, however, if you want a homely traditional style hotel and bar, that is clean & comfortable with spacious modern bedrooms & bathrooms then this is a great spot. The food in the bar is very good and... More

I was there just from midnight until early next morning but even in this short time I enjoyed staff very encouraged to make my stay comfortable and giving me the feeling of being welcomed. Room was very spacious and beds and duvees were so big that even me as a very tall man had a good and quiet sleep. Breakfast... More

Stayed here for one night earlier in the week, arrived and was quickly booked in - it was a cold evening and I found the hotel and my room nice and warm. The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great cooked breakfast the next morning to get my day off to a good start. This... More

Stayed for 2 nights, Fri & Sat. The staff & the owner were really friendly. Food great and the craic was brilliant. Best craic we have had in a long time. There was live entertainment which was very good both nights. The hotel was clean and comfortable and we will be back next year.

An old fashioned hotel but clean and with good food. The staff were a delight, so friendly and kind and bent over backwards to help us. My friend and I booked a twin room, one of the beds was enormous and the room seemed spacious and had a nice bathroom. Our room faced the back (view was the car park)... More

My wife and I stayed at Mahon's for five nights while visiting family in Irvinestown. Mahon's has a busy pub business and live entertainment so we requested a quiet room on the back of the hotel away from the street and the pub. Our room was not only quiet, but is was very large and spotlessly clean. The hotel staff... More

Only a substantial bribe from a rival hotelier would induce me to invent a niggle regards this excellent hotel. Though only there for two nights (room104) we had an excellent stay. The staff were outstanding and obviously enjoying there employment there. I mentioned to Joe Mahon (owner) that I sought a fedora hat to compliment a suit I had just... More

We booked this as a relaxing over night break and that's what we got. The receptionist when checking in was very friendly and showed us to our room 223 on the second floor, there's no lift which didn't bother us, but for someone with walking difficulties this would be a problem. Our room was massive! It was more like a... More

We have just arrived home after our three night stay at Mahons. Staff and owners treated us just like family. Food and accommodation excellent. Would definitely recommend it. Will most definitely go again.
