Only had the one night at this lovely 3 star hotel. Although in an old villa, it's a new hotel, and as you would expect, clean, tidy and functional. The front desk always play such an important role in a hotel. At this hotel, those members of staff excel. In our case, it was service with a smile and that... More

Spent a couple of nights here and cannot really fault it. The room was huge and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke adequate English. Only minor quibbles were that shower pressure wasn't great (but perfectly adequate), WiFi reception was very poor in our room and the "interactive TV", that's supposed to allow internet access in the rooms,... Centrally located in the picturesque village of Petralia Soprana this hotel does not offer much but does it right. We had a triple room, very spacious, warm enough, and absolutely clean. Comfortable beds, fridge and Wi-Fi. That's all. The furniture was in fact rather austere but in good working order. Wi-Fi worked only in one case and after logging in... More

Located in historical centre, a former aristocracy building, fine reconstructed. Hotel is new (operating from 2012) and very comfortable. Nice experience to stay in such an old building in the heart of medieval town. Really cordial staff; speaking english. Very good breakfast. Absolutely clean hotel. Wifi not available. There is some terminal pc which should have had an internet access,... More

I cannot think of a way this hotel can improve. An earlier reviewer had trouble with the wifi. It must have been fixed as we had a great wifi connection in our room and I noticed the router near the rooms looks new. We were warmly greeted when we checked in at 8.30pm and told the reception is 24 hours.... More

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Wifi only near lobby. Breakfast was very tasty. It is better to have cash as our credit card was not accepted. I definitely would advice this hotel for romantic nights. Perfect for couples.

the nicest, most professional, customer service orientated staff with excellent english, we encountered in sicily. a clean comfortable room, it is easy to park close by, tasty dinner at da salvatore. the only downside was that the breakfast was all a bit stale - there were not many guests at the time so turnover would be low. offering a smaller... Easily the best hotel in the area. Friendly and pofessional staff, nice large room and good breakfast. The hotel does not operate a restaurant for lunch and dinner. There is only one restaurant in town, and it was closed the day we were there. We were advised to drive down to the town below for our meals, Petralia Sottana. The... More

This is a charming and well-appointed small hotel in the mountaintop village of Petralia Soprana. It is located in a wonderfully renovated old aristocratic villa, everything being done with taste and comfort in mind. The rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean with thick towels and nice bedding. Each rooms has its own computer that doubles as a TV, and Wi-Fi... More

The hotel is nice and small. The rooms are very clean, everything is new and in good condition. A very good place where you can stay while visiting this beautiful area. The people at the front desk were very helpful and very nice. Petralia soprana itself is lovely.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"Hotel Residenza Petra" is a renovated baronial building that preserved some parts of the original architecture and the "arte povera" period style. It is in the historic centre of Petralia Soprana, the highest village of the mountain chain of Madonie, at 1147 metres above sea level. Here silence is not a luxury and life flows slowly between evocative landscape and breathtaking sunsets. Fresh air, greenery and nature are excellent cure, both for adults and for children, to free your mind and your body from the stess built up in the cities. ... more   less
