An unforgettable stay. Highly recommend this remote sustainable farm where you feel part of a special community. We were a family of 5 who stayed for 3 nights in January. First, the food. We are all demanding foodies and were thrilled with our meals. Our bungalow was adorable. Wagner was a warm and fun bar manager, Christopher at reception was... More

Rancho Margot was a wonderful place to stay for 3 nights of our Costa Rica vacation. Bunglow 11 was secluded in a beautiful wet Forrest setting and was perfect for our fmoly of 4. The free twice daily yoga sessions were great. The organic meals, all grown and prepared on site were healthy and tasty. it was a stay that... More

For 8,000 colones, or $15/per person, we enjoyed a lunch buffet stocked with organic produce, dairy and meats from the farm. Salad, pizza/quesadilla, and entrée stations provided a number of options. We were even serenaded by an incredibly talented musician. After lunch we took a two hour tour of the ranch. Our guide was especially knowledgeable about the farm and... More

Rancho Margot was an incredible place to stay. Self-sustaining with wonderful nature all around. The staff was phenomenal. Attentive, friendly and accommodating. Each of the meals was delicious and it made it even better the food was farm-to-table. Aurelio was more than happy to give us a tour of the ranch and we even ran a little over on time... More

My husband and I spent a week at Rancho Margot. We were immediately impressed by the gorgeous grounds, the friendly and informative staff and the excellent food -- made on the premises from their own gardens. This was our first stay in a self-sustainable ranch and we loved it. Every day, we did excursions: horseback riding, kayaking and hiking, all... More

Thank you so much for your incredibly thoughtful and kind feedback. It was such a pleasure to have you both here with us for such an extensive period of time (sorry about the rain!) and it means so much to read your genuinely beautiful review. Believe it or not, the receiver for our wifi is solar-powered, and so after days... More

We stumbled upon Rancho Margot while staying in El Castillo. The young lady at the desk was so welcoming and showed us around the restaurant/bar area and explained their philosophy of organic farming. She offered us coffee and we fell in love with the place so much so that we came back that evening for dinner. It was wonderfully fresh... More

Pros: the staff are sincerely and incredibly friendly (always ready to smile, call you "amigo" and offer a wave or hi-5); the ranch owner and workers have rehabilitated the land the Ranch sits on in an authentic and beautiful fashion; the meals are FRESH and make you feel clean from the inside out; the yoga is held in such a... Hidden in the mountains beyond El Castillo, Rancho Margo offers a place to truly be and experience the beauty of costa rica. Basic but charming bungalows dot the hillside and are reached by winding jungle trails. The entire property is bio dynamic and self sufficient. The ranch produces all of its own food and electricity completely off grid. The kids... More

My husband and I visited Rancho Margot in August, 2014. The place is just amazing. Luxurious cabin rooms, tasty food, fun activities, good place to meet new international friends, but the best part was just to sit back on the cabin's balcony and relax and maybe go to yoga offered twice a day. Rancho Margo would have received 5 stars,... More

Take the ranch tour (free) and learn about all the composting and cow milking and farming and water conservation that they do there. It's amazing. Exactly what they mean when someone says sustainable, and person-scale, and natural. Opt for one of the bungaloes, they're a little more expensive, but the privacy and walk through the jungle path is worth it.... More
