Getting to this place is half of the adventure but well worth it! Each room is very private and peaceful, allowing you to reconnect with nature and each other. The ranch is well taken care of and you can see the vision of a fully sustainable farm in process. Be sure to take the ranch tour that is included in... More

This was an inspirational place to stay with our kids, who are 12 and 10. We loved our airy room high up and overlooking the gardens ... we felt like we were in a tree house! And we loved the food - nearly all produced on the ranch - and delicious and plentiful with lots for adults and children to... More

This is the place to get your hands dirty in the middle of the rainforest. I was able to get into direct touch with Costa-Rican nature, learn about it's wildlife, and ways to personally live a healthier lifestyle. After a long bumpy dirt road that passes by the National Park and through the tiniest town of El Castillo, you come... More

Rancho Margot is unlike anywhere I have ever stayed. This place is special- set apart in the Costa Rican rain forest, it is not easy to get to (miles and miles of seemingly endless dirt roads and bridges without guard rails will take you there) and that is part of its charm. If you are looking for a retreat away... More

We stumbled on this place by mistake. This is an amazing place run by wonderful people. It's a self sustaining ranch. We took a tour with a great guide and ginger the dog. The tour was very interesting and our kids learned a lot. The grounds are very beautiful and peaceful. After the tour we had a healthy and good... More

We stumbled across this place by accident by driving to the end of the road...literally. Kayak guide, Manuel was great. We saw more wildlife here than anywhere else in CR. No experience with the restaurant or hotel other being told by a staff member we couldn't walk around the property, we had to have a guide...after the front desk told... More

Thank you so much for joining us for a kayak tour this summer - and we are so happy to know you enjoyed your experience with Emanuel. We apologize that you weren't able to explore the grounds of Rancho Margot, but we do offer a 2-hour guided sustainable ranch tour should you have wished. It's true that for the comfort... More

The grounds of Rancho Margot are absolutely beautiful! The rooms however were a little more rustic than we were expecting. It would have been nice to have screened windows so that you could have a breeze through the room without being swarmed by bugs. The food was good, but it never said before we arrived that every meal was buffet... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience at Rancho Margot. Your comments of course give us the opportunity to learn and make changes to improve our services, and we thank you for your honesty. To provide a more thorough explanation: we do not have screens on our bungalow windows because even screens greatly minimize... More
